Link Garmin Connect to Vitality Account

I noticed on the Discovery website that you can link your Garmin Connect account to your Vitality account so that any uploads from your Garmin is automatically linked to your Vitality account. Seems like a simple way to get some Vitality points.

It sounds like a straight forward process until you actually do it.

Here are some of the instructions:

Step 2: Click on 'Fitness devices and apps' page under 'Gym and Fitness' section on the Vitality menu and click on 'Link my Garmin account'.

Problem is - there is no "Link my Garmin account" button or link on this page...

Has anyone managed to successfully link their accounts and is there something that I'm missing?

Thanks!

PS. This is not a discussion about Vitality points, medical aid or rewards programmes - just a simple query, have you linked your accounts and is there anything special you need to do to get it linked?

Howsit, there actually is a link some where to link your account, if you scroll down the page you will see two Garmin icons- one to link and the other is to upload via a plugin The issue I am having is that the activities are not automatically  uploaded to Discovery. The only way I have managed to do this is via the manual upload function when your device is connected to your PC and through a Garmin plugin. I am in discussions with Discovery as they are trying to fix this

I've linked them, somehow... Somewhere there is a pdf you download with a link to link them... Same place as the Suunto one is linked if that helps.

Problem is that none of my activities have synced through... Still have to get on their case about it.

Anyway, at the end of the day you can go from Strava to discovery points... In theory!

Yes i have done it and was quite easy from what i can remember when you click on link my garmin a popup comes up where you put in your garmin login details and then it is linked.

Click on the Connect power by Garmin logo I think, but was a while ago when I did it and mine is all linked already so cannot remember exactly

I use chrome browser if that helps

So I'm not the only one... Please keep us posted...

Good luck, is all I can say. I linked mine a week ago and the Vitality site says last uploaded: 21:12 09 Apr 2015. Nothing since then. :cursing:

Edit: P.S. I don't think anything pulled through either, as the previous activities were already uploaded.

Mine has been working for the past 15 months about with a slight run around.

I had to create a profile on www.mapmyfitness.com which I then linked to my Garmin Connect account. I then linked my Vitality profile to my mapmyfitness account and got my points automatically from there

Wow, impressive. I've found https://tapiriik.com/very useful for syncing between all the differnet accounts.

ah, will look into this, as the auto upload hasn't been working for me either! says the upload has happened, but none of the work outs are reflecting.

I have just been manually uploading weekly.

YUP Discovery has partnered with MMF, I know when I tried to edit my polar account, it gave me an error stating that another rewards partner was linked - MMF.

I was playing around with the challenges section on discovery's website and only then did it bring something up to register with MMF and link accounts. They should make this more clear.

The Polar "update" function is pretty cool in that you can tell it when to sync with the Polar fitness site, I did ask Discovery why this is not possible with Garmin. Will keep you posted once they figure out what is wrong.

I haven't sync'ed my Garmin for a while but i see all my Jan workouts did pull through automatically, might have broken after that.

Update: My last activity on Garmin connect is 15th Feb so it broke after the 18th Jan, missing about 6-7 rides.

I'm also uploading manually on a weekly basis. Tried to sync so many times and so many ways. Gave up in the end!

I really dislike that vitality site!! My Garmin also doesn't upload automatically after trying a number of times to link the Garmin to vitality. I click on things and nothing happens...

My activities are not being loaded automatically from Garmin Connect and I cannot access the Map My Fitness because my password hasn't been sent.

I cant seem to find a way to upload automatically since they added the automatic Map My Fitness upload function.

Not sure what to do with this now.
