I had the unfortunate event of loosing a Garmin eTrex 30 on Sani2C. I was part of the Race. Started in the last block of the day (Block N). I lost it within the first few km's. If found, please contact me.

Thanks

Guys no offense, but how do you loose your kit ?

My garmin dropped off twice, and twice I had to stop at most inconvenient times and go back and fetch the  thing.

Is it a case of you look down it is there, you look and then down again and it is gone ?

Pretty much.. I've lost 2 brytons like that. . It was there and then it wasn't. . Now I have a polar rcx3, I reckon unless I lose my arm or the entire handlebar I won't lose it.

Or just a small tether should do the trick.... I have a garmin virb camera that sits on the bars, keep it secured with a small piece of fly fishing line. Sorted.

hope you get it back bud.

I wanted to pressed record and the button wasn’t there anymore, and the rest of it

Pretty sure there's a guy who lost a waterbottle with sentimental value too.

Gravel Donkey? He is still looking for it. Spoke to him last week, he has resorted to printing flyers and handing them out at robots.

Other than the cost of DSTV, that was the second most ridiculous thing ever...ever

Last year on last stage of kremetart MooToo knocked his garmin off(he was on the back of a tandem) I saw it out the corner of my eye. He didn't! I shouted at him from the other side of the group that it had just fallen off. So I guess it does happen.

Garmin feel off twice on Day 1. My fault as we put a GoPro on the handlebar and had not actually tested that everything fitted. The thing just slid off the bar and was ALMOST gone!. But I was using the little string thing that comes in the box which kept the little black box dangling for its life off the bars. Would have been a quick 4k down the drain if it was not for that R5.00 string.

Next day the bracket was ducttaped down and no issue for the next 2 days.

Was actually amazed at the spare parts that one could pick up along the way.
