Boels Dolmans noted that she was released from the hospital with no life-threatening injuries, and Armitstead later confirmed on Twitter that she had no fractures.

Armitstead returned to the race hotel to join her Boels Dolmans team, however, she made the decision not to start the second stage in Braintree on Thursday.

If you stand in the road. Accidents are going to happen. She may have momentarily lost control of her bike but that she had no space to correct herself is absurd. An accident is usually the accumulation of two mistakes.

can only be out of embarrassment that she didn't start.

If there is a crash in the last km the bunch gets the same time as the winner........does this rule apply if the crash was after the finish line like in this case?

She would have hit the deck even if there was an open field after the finish. It was game over before she got to the photographers. If anything she should thank them for breaking her fall.
