???

The only issues seems to be with 3 people. You, marking, and that bloke who wrote a review.

And it appears you and Mark are hell bent on creating conflict.

Perhaps read less into the emotion you think is there and take posts at face value.

For now you are projecting an aura of controlling git.

You also appear to love having a go at anyone who disagrees with you.

Maybe you consider yourself to be an alpha male. But consider there are others and you will just have to get along with them whether you approve of their choice of words or not.

As previously mentioned, your high post count does not make you anyone's master.

yeah, it's been available there for a while. GX cassette is still more expensive than the XT though, which is why I'd probably go for the XT cassette over the GX and a driver upgrade (which I can't do on my hub atm, so it'd be a new hub & wheel rebuild as well)

I still reckon I'd go GX RD & shifter with the XT cassette though. I like the SRAM goodies. Every one I've ridden has been just that little bit crisper on the change than the Shimano stuff. And I like SRAM.

When you compare group to group prices there's very little between the GX and new XT 1x11 sets. Shimano offers slightly more options for now though, including choice of cage size and different spec shifters. I'm personally inclined to go for the gx cassette though.

10 - 42 as apposed to srams 11 - 42. It probably won't make much of a difference in practice. But if I ever spin out on that GX cassette I'll probably lose sleep over that extra tooth. Since I'm being anal. I can't believe the difference in chainring bcd between the 2 sets. Seriously. Its 2mm to be seriously pissed off about

Reppin?

Is that another one of those euphemisms for trolling?

No. that i leave to your capable delinquency.

But I was asking, too simply for which i apologize, which store you represent. Your post was very unhelpful in that regard. Short, without context, very much like trolling. Much irony in fact.

other way round, but I suspect its's the lack of coffee talking... :P

GX = SRAM, XT = Shimano...

The Shimano cassette is still cheaper by a fair margin - approx 30% or so (on CRC, at least) and for me, changing to SRAM cassette would mean a wheelset rebuild and new hub as well, so in that respect the cassette will have to be Shimano's 11-42.

I'm basing that on my personal needs - I don't tend to run out of gears going down (too slow) but I do run out on the way up (too slow, again)

a mix and match would probably suit me best. But I'd like the switching gear to be SRAM... For now.

I dont think srams makes a 11-42 (Shimano does) GX=SRAM

Where did you get the bcd's ?

Damn, forgot about hub compatibility. Sigh. I prefer sram shifting too.
