'Dale Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 http://www.letour.fr/PHOTOS/VUE/2015/1600/PROFIL.png What I like about the Vuelta this year is that all the mountain top or hilltop finishes have never been used before.
NotSoBigBen Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I couldn't agree more. Dig the oke, but asking a contender to help design the route? Hmmmmm How likely is it that it would suit only him though? I would think that there are a few others that would be equally capable ..... given that, it would of course reduce the opposition?

jimmycool Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I couldn't agree more. Dig the oke, but asking a contender to help design the route? HmmmmmImagine what the course would look like next year if they got Greipel to help with the design!
Gen Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I couldn't agree more. Dig the oke, but asking a contender to help design the route? HmmmmmNow I know you like a good conspiracy theory ( just like me). But he is the oldest of the GC guys the others have a big advantage over him.. youth. All he did was help with one stage and made it bloody hard. He didn't even win that stage. Even Froome said on twitter had he been asked probably would've done something similar.
dev null Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Shoe, the last 2 climbs are brutal. Time gaps will be enormous by the end of today.
ScottCM Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Considering this is the Spanish grand tour... and Purito's cult status in Spain... and the fact that he still hasn't won a grand tour yet... and that this might be his last opportunity ever... and considering the fact that he was even asked to design stage 11 (a stage he designed himself for himself)... and there are 9 new summit finishes this year that have never been in the Vuelta before... that this whole Vuelta is pretty much tailormade for him (including today's huge stage)... and that he didn't really ride super hard in the TDF (looked to me like he was using it for training for this tour)... considering all of that... who else is getting the feeling that it seems people have come together to try and get Purito that elusive grand tour GC win? Look, I won't hold it against him. I will be super happy if he does win - he's a little legend and I've always been a supporter. But jeepers, has any other grand tour been designed around one rider like this one has? Most of us said that this year's TDF was designed for Niaro but Chris came and showed us all what he could do. My point is that although the Vuelta has been designed for J-Rod that doesn't mean he will get it. Personally I would prefer it being built for him than Valverde and I definitely don't want Aru to win so as far as my opinion goes, GO J-ROD!!!!

So I have come to the conclusion that they were the result of science project many many years ago.. and we're genetically modified to come out like that.. much like in the series Orphan Black, Valverde is just the one with less side effects of the science project.[emoji6] ???????? Yes..a rainy cold Saturday brought me to that conclusion[emoji11]
Patchelicious Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 How likely is it that it would suit only him though? I would think that there are a few others that would be equally capable ..... given that, it would of course reduce the opposition?Of course a climby route will suit more than only one person. Just like a flat TT will suite more than just one rider, but it eliminates many others. You wont see Wiggens plan a 6000m climby day, he will more than likely plan a 54.5km flat TT. The conditions are the same for everyone GO NAIROAbsolutely, but that doesn't mean the conditions suit everybody Imagine what the course would look like next year if they got Greipel to help with the design! It doesn't matter apparently, the conditions are the same for everybody Now I know you like a good conspiracy theory ( just like me). But he is the oldest of the GC guys the others have a big advantage over him.. youth. All he did was help with one stage and made it bloody hard. He didn't even win that stage. Even Froome said on twitter had he been asked probably would've done something similar.I am sorry, I am not sure what you mean, please enlighten me to these "theories" that I like? I said it is dodgy that a contender has a say in the route that they themselves will be competing in. If Froome had a say in the TdF, it would raise an eyebrow, if Rossi had a say in which track they should race it would be dodgy, if Nadal got to choose which surfaces they should use, it would be questioned. Simple. No theories.
Wez-O Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I'd absolutely love Tom Dumoulon to hang in there today and not lose too much time, then smack the 50kg climbers in the TT. He could genuinely take 2 minutes plus out of the likes of Aru and Rodriguez.
'Dale Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 800m in 7km....... Bliksem! That'll warm me up
Wannabe Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 That'll warm me up I started cramping, just reading that.
