I'm hoping to have meetings with the relevant authorities lined up by then and the higher the number the more impact I'll have when I meet with them. Almost think it's just a matter of time before its my turn cause I ride alone most of the time. These thugs have taken away a simple pleasure, one of my only escapes from reality, we have to do something to stop it, some small way...

Classic Africa contribution to a crime-solving situation. Sod the forensics and CSI, pah on your thermal imaging, tracker dogs and CCTV. This situation is only going to be moved forward by giving the local plods coke and pies. And you know what? you're right, its the best thing you can do. Maybe lob a few into the bushes so that they search a bit too.
Trackside Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I was at the very top lookout point on Sunday afternoon with my car when three plain clothes policemen in a marked car pitched and warned us about the danger of being robbed. I had a discussion with them about us cyclists training there early mornings and afternoons and the need to have police patrols and assistance to eliminate the threat of being attacked. They listened and all three remarked that they will look into the situation. Not sure where they were from or what rank they were, but they did seem willing to get involved. Keep posting details about the actions you want to take, if I am in town I will join. Maybe post it on the Pretoria East MTB Facebook page as well.

Read his post properly nothing was meant in a joke, if he says he will help he does, but then again this is The Hub and people read what they want! Will be more vigilant while cycling there early in the morning
Bateleur1 Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 This is where the criminals are hiding, if you look carefully you can see the natural depressions which make it easy for them to hide when you look up. Always thought that is where the guys would hide. Always seemed to be the place and was always scared of that area when cycling there. This is just before the point where Jason got knocked off his bike if I am not mistaken. Happened just a couple of meters up the road.
