People get angry with cyclists because it reminds them they need to lose 30kg, stop smoking and cut down to a liter of brandy a week. It's just too much for some people so they get in a tizzy. Perfectly understandable.

 

We are also soft targets. It's the same dynamic that explains why people hurl red paint at skinny rich chicks in fur coats but keep dead quiet and look the other way when a gang of leather clad Hells Angels rolls into town.
