Too much suspension in this thread.

Here's Sklar, keeping things real.

Edit: Do you spontaneously grow a scraggly beard and pirate mustache when you swing a leg over it? Rigid hipster bike that.

A dual-susser plus bike is a tad overboard, but a long travel HT, now that's where the plus game is at.

Dual sus plus bikes seem to be for those of us who need something to shorten the gap between skills and ambition!

And have a load of fun.

Can't wait to get my grubby paws on a 27.5+ hardtail. Have shortlisted the Spez Fuse.

The bikes look like super fun, hooligan bikes!

I agree 100% - i almost pulled the trigger on a Fuse but will have to wait for the Fuze until next year, as have ordered a new camber.

The problem is that no-one in SA understands trail-orientated hardtails, or do they?

Congrats on the Camber. 2016 model I suppose?

It's a shame that there aren't more guys riding trail HT's. Gauteng is perfect territory for a mid-travel trail HT.

You can actually get the "plus" experience without committing to products that are marketed as "plus". You can get a set of WTB Asym i35 rims with an internal width of 35mm (hence the name), build the wheel up

and slap on a set of WTB's Breakout tyres in 2.5"

and you'll have a pretty decent "plus" experience.

Won't be the same as the the proper stuff, but will be a nice compromise for your existing bike.

Edit: You can obviously do this with any proper wide rim and tyre combo.

See previous image posted of niner MCR running 27.5 x 2.8 tyres!

Nothing stopping you!

The Trailblazer was designed as a "plus" tyre, specifically to be run on wide 650B rims in a 29er frame.

What I'm saying is that you can get a similar "plus" experience without buying into new products designed and marketed as "plus".

I agree with you...

Without having to buy a whole new bike you can still get on it...

a fuse model comes with WTB rims if I am not mistaken....if I wasn't such an old toppie, I would've got one as an all-purpose bike

Ja, I ordered a 2016 camber - it also has the wide (30mm internal) rims, so almost a "Bike plus".

What I would like to ride - just once - is this (stumpy fattie s-works 27.5):
