Thanks everyone, gonna be a long 3 months

Stretch, he did stop, but was very suspect, parked his car about 50m down the road and leaned against his boot looking on, when the witnesses that had seen the whole accident started shouting at him to do something, he just kept shouting from a distance "I didn't see him".

To add a little extra I was travelling with the traffic on a sidewalk pavement of a main road , and was crossing another side road by jumping off into the road and back on the pavement. I did this in front of the Witness car waiting to pull out who gave me right of way to cross as the road they were turning left into was busy.... The Raider came from in front of me and took a small gap to turn right across the traffic and T-Boned me... hope that makes some sense.... I don't remember any impact but the witness account is as above.. and last thing I remember is her giving me right of way..

I digress, so then when they shouted at him to call an ambulance or put my bike and me in his Double cab and take me to hospital he rather chose to go home 1 block away and come back In a different vehicle.. All very odd.

Then when I called him yesterday (the witness got his number/reg no for me) after coming out of hospital to ask for the accident report number... he said he hadn't reported it as it hadn't even crossed his mind, even though his grill and headlights were damaged..

Took me a few attempts just to get his Id number and Drivers license from him for the Police Accident report......

Something is a little odd.. left it with the police to investigate for now

Not cool, probably tried to keep his distance as alcohol was on his breath and changed cars in the hope that if police rock up they dont see the extent of damage done to his bakkie and then test him for drinking.

Either was, like you said, all very odd to say the least. Heal up soon bud.

Goodness Ferret... Sorry, that's all I could manage without adding colourful language - it took some restraint!

I was nearly taken out exactly the same way quite a while ago - seems people crossing to the right just look for a gap in traffic and goes... So truth be told, very easy to miss a bike, because that's not what the guy is focused on. And no, I'm not making excuses here! My guy at least came to a screeching halt when he eventually DID see me. (I was already cursing and bracing myself for impact... nowhere to go.)

All the best, hope you heal up well. That is the most important!

This is exactly why my wife mentioned the other day that she's so glad I'm actually running more than MTBing now. A sad reality.

Did they at least help you put by doing this.....

Hope that was not to soon .......

Haha, well Funnily enough... my wife got there before the ambulance and took me to the hospital... En Route I ended my workout on my 920xt which in turn uploaded the ride to strava..

So you can actually see, if you zoom right in, the point of Impact on the strava file..

Lol u mean you have already checked STRAVAAAaaaaa

Very sorry to hear of your accident and best wishes for a full and quick recovery.

Makes my little hamstring strain on Saturday seem rather tame.... I had to end my lsd and have only run 4 km since then.... Giving it plenty chance to heal b4 the marafun in 3 weeks ????

Damm Ferret that is crap news...   Hope you get well soon.

So I went full out regarding my knee with advice from my running colleague as well.  I got a batch of anti inflammatories, a box of trans act patches and did all my excercises and stretches.

I still did not feel anything whilst running and even afterwards now everything is better.

So roll on the 32kms tommorrow and 13 Sunday and I guess we will soon know the answer to the test...

How so?

We did our 32 LSD Saturday and yesterday 13.  The 32 was our longest to date and the distance of 112 (The 9 days, last Saturday untill yesterady) was by far the most I did in my lifetime.  Even more than I did with a bicycle for a week.    Which is obviously a normal week for others but this is new to us.

Everything held up nicely, don't know anything about the ITB apart from the normal joints and muscles sensitivity.  My wife is struggling with her groin, which bothered her terribly on Saturday, but not yesterday.   It comes and goes.

But we're very chuffed with how things are progressing, slowly but surely.

Well Done Jackes.

Had to run 3h on Saturday, but i wasn't in the mood to do my run on the tar, so i opt to do my 3h long run on the trail in Marloth Park, right next to the Kruger Park. Took it very easy and slow. Stopped a lot to take pictures of the wildlife and look at the views.

thanks..had a bit of a *** run on Sat. HR was higher than normal (which i think was a result of a restless sleep) - Was meant to do 30..but got to the point where i break off for the extra 3 km loop and thought..bugger it...was feeling like i had had enough..so only did 27 and was pretty spent after. I think a sign that i need to take it easy for the next 6 days in prep for the run on Sunday

How is the rehab going?
