We were cycling Camps Bay way and saw the whole thing. There wasnt a car in sight so we pressumed it was a hit and run maybe or a truck that didint know he hit the guy. The bike (mtb) was a mess.

my blood ran cold reading that and i'm fighting back the tears. may every misfortune possible befall the piece of sh*t who killed simon and may it's every day be filled with the misery it deserves.

and i say that and mean it with every bit of my being so anyone who wants to hear the "other side to the story" and wants to scream for the rights of the murderer, go find the $rsehole and have your cup of tea with it... this was MURDER and i REFUSE to sympathise with a killer or the supporters of such sh*ts.

I'm glad that Bryon was there with him at the end and wrote what he did.  There's a heroism and humanity in his actions & measured tone that leaves me choked.

Thanks for posting this JohnW.

the cape time makes for interesting reading. It would seem our deputy minister of safety is making the right noises. People like this may soon find that there life time jail sentences, will involve early life termination.

Very sad. I ride that road every day. Like Bryon I look forward to hearing the driver gets his just deserts.

Rest in Peace  Simon
