Hi guys,

Is there perhaps a list available of 'what to expect at the refreshment stations'? I'm doing a looooooong slow one (5-7 hours with plenty of stops). Can't find it on the website.

I'm sure the magazine we get at the expo will tell you. Otherwise expect the sponsors brew!

Will strava link work?

I know Talus asked initially so don't want to hijack his request but it would work for me.

I have basically broken my race up into 4. Top of Edinburgh drive. Top of smits. Top of Chappies. Top of Suikerbossie.

From what I can see I would like to be about 19min till Edinburgh. About 2h10 too of Chappies and about 2h30 top of suikerbossie.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour is owned and staged by the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust and it is the largest, timed cycling event in the world. Pretty sure substitutions are closed already. Pretty unethical to sell for a profit as well. #justsaying

whats the road condition like ? and will the route be cleaned the night before  , we know Cpt takes good care of their city.

Safe to roll on Gp4000s and leave the gatorskins at home ?

GP4000s definitely

The only part that has more glass than usual is the bit from Ocean View to Sun Valley. The city normally sweeps that the day before the race, but the smart people stay away from the shoulder of the road for that stretch, especially the couple of hundred metres past Masiphumelele. The rest of it will be pretty clean as it is.

I came down with a summer cold yesterday, together with my son.  Hope it clears up before Sunday so that we can ride, but I fear I would have to hold back my efforts so that I can finish in Sea Point, and not the hospital ward.

Was sort of hoping to finally break 5 hours.  Weather looks great for Sunday at this point.

With no Vet groups, will 1A be full of VA, VB, etc riders? I've been slotted in 1A because of a fairly good 94.7 time but a bit concerned that I will be a bit out of my depth. I've never raced vets, just a couple local JHB races in A batch.

I am keen to go sub 3 but don't want to be blown out the back right at the start. Any suggestions - should I go back a group or two?
