NB: CSA/Olympics thread removed

I fully back Admin with his pulling of the thread.  Although the Hub has actually nothing to do with the placing of the thread and comments posted thereon, the Hub is often seen as the "bad" thing around and is often quoted as the spreader of bad news / rumours.

I personally have been stuck in the middle of a fight between cycling bodies and other people, once too often, and even though most of it had nothing to do with me, I ended up getting blamed from both sides.  I would hate to see the same happen to this forum.

I think Admin's quick decision was the right one for the Hub.

Although Admin may have done the right thing in some regards' date=' there are some points that need to be registered:

It is a concern that the hub has to enforce discipline when someone close to the CSA is spilling confidential information.  Why can the CSA not find this member and apply their discipline code on that member.  To try "kill" the hub is not solving the problem, as this member can simply PM HR or Sean Bardenhorst or Adel Tait, who will then print the "Scoop" in their publications.

Secondly, any inistiution that fails to satisfy the "grips" of its consitutency runs the danger expereinced by the French and Russian nobility.

LAstly, if the CSA was really transparent and democractic its members would have been informed bmo a newsletter of the nominations for the board.  Just to stir, I nominate Crux as chairman of CSA, HR for PR, Adel Tait for Communication and Publicity, Attie/koos Koekomoer for development and Grey Owl for team selections

if it's a paid position, i'll take it?

Guest Big H

The last time cycling in South Africa was run properly was before the untimely death of Raoul De Villiers. The kartels and grootbekke took over after that.

Does anyone have the number of Carte Blanche or Special Assignment for me. I need to contact them for something. Cant say about what, its confidential.

There are a lot more things thats going on, maybe that must also go on this forum. Because everything gets swept under the carpet. like the last 30 years I've been riding. I've been suspended for life once after something I said, no hearing whatsoever! Another time a  person just told me to hand over my licence, cant race again. Because I questioned a decision made by a commissaire. I feel like resigning now from my position in my province, but I owe it to the riders to try and get the right people in next week. People that do it for the passion, but also run a good business at the same time.

I'm also gatvol of this, if I cant make a change on the 23rd at congress to get the right people in for the cyclists I'm out.

I cant imagine being involved in a sport that takes up so much time, and you're against the riders. It doesnt make sense.

I will campaign, (no I dont want a big position) and will probably get stabbed in the back.

But then I can go home and ride my bike.

I think the following solution would suit the old guard:

Disband all the provinces and run the sport from CSA offices only, then there is no need to question or moan about anything.

Could it be..........

1. The missing or missused Lotto funds.

2. The allocation of Nocsa and Sacog money incorrectly.

3. The Claiming back of bogus expenses by certain 'officials'

4. The stealing and theiving of certain CGCU members that has recently come to light

5. The previous sanctioned doping program.

The list goes on and on and on and on.

Just want to check something. I don't know anything about CSA but have had exposure to other institutions, so I want to determine if there is a South African culture in this regard.

Are the funds of CSA losely managed, with office bearers giving themselves"soft loans"?

Are these irregularities simply ignored (apart from some whistle blowers)?

ARe particular office bearers posts "protected" by a so called consitution, and the same constitution is quoted at length to ensure no changes or workable solutions are found.  With the "experts" on the consitution convienently ignoring there mandate, or even their "consitution" when it suits them?

Are matters solved not by clear procedures but rather politicking?

Are the allocation of financially viable portfolio's and functions given to "friends" and close associates?

If so CSA does not differ from any other governing bodies.  Par for the course.
