jimmycool Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 To be fair though Chris Froome is the only guy there who looks like a stick insect who is smuggling 2 Christmas hams in his bib shorts. He has all the muscle where it matters and then pretty much nothing else anywhere on his body. He has to have the best power to weight ratio of anyone on the tour, combined with a very healthy dose of stamina.

GLuvsMtb Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Why does it look like the Moviestar team is riding like a lot of individuals? Been noting some of there guys in the break for the last few days and today in the TT riding hard to make good times. Compared to Sky, all the guys except CF taking it easy (comparatively) probably prepping for the next two hard days in support of yellow. Don't seem like the Moviestar guys are riding for NQ. For CF to win today was awesome knowing whats coming. Ecstatic for Port and Meinchies . WOW.To me it looks like a team that is set on winning the best team classification as they surely realized by now that GC honors are all but lost for 2016.

Pah Bear Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 If Sky were to become the latest Postal or Banesto, then it will really be difficult to resurrect the sport. Suspect we would see even more sponsors throwing in the towel. But ... even if I can't say the same of Sky, I honestly would like to believe in a guy like CF.
Pure Savage Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Im fairly sure that after the tour they will say that Quintana was sick in this last week. It isnt the normal Quintana and even though I dont like him much, I was hoping he would put up more of a fight. Something is definitely not right with him.Valverde has been a great team mate playing the perfect game for him but he cant ever close anything. What!?? Are you watching the same TDF? Valverde is the worst possible team mate! Two days ago Nairo was not feeling great, what does valverde do, put in an attack then pop, then when Porte goes Nairo has no team mate to help set pace. Again, Movistar proving its one of the worst teams in the sport, they just not team players. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That Valverde attack was 1 of of the 'famous' 1 - 2 movistar move.. they do it every year and in every GT.. in the hope to drop some sky riders.. Nairo couldn't come up with the 2 in the 1-2 move. That's how Movistar ride.. always have.. they don't have the firepower to pace the bunch or close down gaps.. so they rely on the 1-2 attack... been like that for ages.

Cupboards are "cleaned", people fired, sponsors leave, but then everything goes back to normal with a "new" generation.

Just proves my point, as a team if this strategy has not been working for 5 years, you need to do something differently. Also, in the 1-2 , you ask 2 if he has legs, if not you sit around and help him. You did not see Woet Poels last year in week 3 put in the 1-2 when Chris was suffering. Its a real pity, Movistar has the most talent to compete, but their team tactics, ethos and some riders just really relegate them to woe is my spanish team.

Also, they do have the fire power, remember in the 2013 edition, it ended up with 5 movistar riders and 1 yellow jersey chris froome in the final week. They have all the fire power but are not on the same level as Sky when it comes to tactics that suite their riders.
Mntboy Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 When did 'it' s Friday after all' become the correct legal term for 'allegedly' ? #didn'tgetthememoEver since Oxter used it to infer doping. I was going to use #Friday_fight _club but I didn't want anyone confusing me for being Ed Norton. #Asifthatwouldeverhappen#tongueincheek Sent from my GT-S6790 using Tapatalk
