Where were the crash hotspots last year?

For the price I pay, I expect a race number, 4 safety pins and a little photocopy showing the start chute and start times. 

No number, no nothing...Why go and register then? Will my transponder not suffice then on Sunday? I am from out of town and this being my 1st, seems like a waste of time going to Registration. What happened there? Did they just tick your name off?

The easier question to answer is. How many events in Cape Town have road closures?

Also quite interested in this answer as I am also coming from out of town and was trying to get a buddy to pick up my race pack but if nothing was inside it then y bother.  I have never been to race where they don't give you a number.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to the roadworks on Swawelstert Road (Paarl), a detour will be implemented for all cyclists riding on Sunday. The detour will see the cyclists proceed straight past Swawelstert Road before turning right onto Van der Stel and then the first right onto Bo-Dal Josafat Road after which it will join the original route again. This detour adds 3.75km onto the route which results in a total route distance of 101.6km. This decision was made in the interest of cyclists safety, and we appreciate your understanding.

Forget the route. Just watch the wheel in front and don't make any sudden movements or braking and there will likely be no crashes.

Now those last km's from Klapmuts are going to hurt more....

Going down Helshoogte towards Pniel. A number of speedhumps. Not huge, but enough to throw you off if caught unawares.

Section after passing Victor Verster jail, towards Paarl. On the left side of yellow line road is bumpy that can catch you out, stay to the right of the yellow line.

Rest of route is fine, as long as you stay alert.
