do they still accommodate taller people?

I am 1.9m tall, and for me to fit my time trail bike in the same jig as a person that is 1.6m tall is insane.

Referring to the 75cm (from centre of bb to end of shifter...)

Depends on race comm.

2014 one of my friends was shown the front door when he lined up and was 1cm off the mark.

All the travel to Dbn from Jhb for nothing.

Last year they were quite lenient.

hehehe....... there are a specific set of rules for riders over 190cm I think it is.... I know cos I am 2 meters and my fore arm length is way off their silly ******* jig. Gotty Hansen knows me well and even built me a tt rig once. I'm not 100 % certain but once a rider is over a certain length, then they don't look at the length of his cockpit reach, but the elbow angle....

Does someone have the profile for the 22km loop for the road race

Scroll back a few pages - it's been posted before.

Hi Guys,

I am contemplating entering the Champs just for the experience.

A few Noob questions, please:

Can anyone enter?  (I'm in M 40-45 category).

As I understand anyone with CSA license (member) can enter, however, to qualify for colours one will need a Full Racing License.   Correct?

Can I enter the TT with a normal road bike?  How much benefit will clip-on TT bars provide?

Yes, anyone can enter. As far as I know, they don't hand out physical jerseys any longer but you will probably need a racing license to get colours, yes.

You can use a road bike in the TT as far as I know. Clip on bars will make a significant difference in performance, although still not as good as a TT bike.

NOT member only.  Full racing license.  (license card with your CSA racing license and applicable category on it.

Why else would you want to compete if not for colours?

But maybe you'll be able to enter and race but not get in contention for podium?

You can enter the TT with a normal bike.  As long as it still complies with all the specs.

Clip on bars will give you about 1min over 20km easy.....

Thanks guys,

I don't think I will get in contention for podium this year, but maybe next year - need to train a bit more.    :D.  But just the experience will help next time round.

Would love a TT bike, but cannot justify it at this stage, unless someone can donate one to me.    :D

You can enter and compete with only a CSA Membership.

If you're good enough to compete for a podium, then chances are you have a full racing licence.

Well.....if you look at the podiums at SA's so far, anyone can really win.  ;)

Pitching up is sometimes 80% of the race.

In it to win it, or at least benchmark one's self against the best.
