NotSoBigBen Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Some may recall Bobbo's thread recently about whether an Alu Rush (bought in Feb 2015) could be repaired (a rear stay had been bent) ..... the owner decided to replace the frame and it became available Lucky for me it was too small for Bobbo himself so he negotiated a good price on my behalf and I procured it. Firstly hoping I could perhaps get the necessary part replacement (was not to be, only complete frames available ) and should all else fail perhaps someone like our very own Dipslick could perhaps do some magic. Chatted to him and he said bring it I check it out for you ..... sadly he after a very short time informed me he thought that was a serious matter and would structurally not be safe. However I pressed for him to try and the first pic I got had me in a slight panic
NotSoBigBen Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 Fortunately with his far reaching contacts that are in fact magicians in disguise he shortly after sent me this pic which lifted my spirits immeasurably A lick of 'rattle' can paint and it looked like new and it looks stronger than the original to me
NotSoBigBen Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 It so happened that my LittleBen had an abandoned 29r project bike standing around and offered that I could use the 'build kit' if I wanted #lovethatkid Also a rear shock my boet just happened to have 'lying' around I have everything besides the headset which should come if not this afternoon then tomorrow morning. Work has gotten in the way today but should be able to do the crank and fit the chain still this afternoon .... Also need to go scratch at the LBS for some of the bolt on cable holders, short 2 This is where it is at now .... will run it 1*10 32*11-36 for now but 34*11-42 will be provided by Santa
