Enjoy Modders while it lasts - as far as I know, it'll all be gone in a few years due to the Chinese development of the adjacent "super city".

My view is that 50 bucks is a bargain.  It's not cheap but it is value for money.

The problem Mousea is by the time I have driven to Hilton , my sports pass has already expired .... then to ride for 3 hours , and still drive home !!!!

Sports pass cancelled AND bikes for sale !!!!

That's the downside of living in JHB , and on the FAR EAST !!!!

Don't forget BCC in the East. R25 for a VERY tight single track. With the new sections being added - 16km long + a small technical section

Great for the chaps in Benoni and Boksburg! Ride there, chase your buds, ride home!

Night ride on Thursdays!

Also remember you are ridding in a Nature Reserve. So money goes toward nature conservation as well.  Next time you there look up from your Strava screen and appreciate the awesome wildlife you cycling safely through, you may see some awesome Buck, birds, snakes, Jackals etc. R50 for all that in JHB city limits. Come on guy. What will make you happy?

There's even first aid boxes at several points round the park.

Trust a bike park North of where I live to have first aid boxes, YEEEESH!   :w00t:

My sister came off the bike at Modderfontein a few months back and dislocated her elbow and while we were not near the first aid boxes we got first aid assistance from one of the employees - he splinted her arm up and also loaded the biked up and took them back to the parking for us.

I'm happy to pay their entry fee for service like that. Sure, we never want to use it, but when you have to, it's good to know it's there.

for a safe environment, and bit of wildlife viewing thrown in if you are lucky, R50 is still worthwhile.

and with the restaurant completed and ablutions etc, the money has seen some use.

Don't they have a monthly subscription arrangement? Giba (Yes it's far from where you are) has the member ship option. Either pay R50 at the gate each time you ride or pay R70 a month and ride as often as you like

I have a 500m track at my house and now that I know what kind of upkeep a track takes I'll happily pay R50 to ride Modders.

Actually - I was happy before I built my own track.

R50 is very little.

Like someone else said - most people wouldn't think twice to throw R50 at a hamburger but R50 to ride 40km of built trail in a nature reserve with medical boxes, direction arrows, upkeep, toilets, showers, grass to picnic on, safe riding, secure parking is too much? Methinks your value system needs an update.

Buy a multi card, R 450.00 for 12 rides = R 37.50 per ride. Good wildlife, good trails, OK markings, 1st aid boxes need some replenishing. As posted above it aint gonna last much longer so enjoy while it's there.

I'm sure I read something about you doing a video that would top Claudio' preview runs....

Makes me quite happy with my local spot then, R10 on weekdays and R20 on weekends. Seems like a bargain compared to some of the others.

Sounds like 3 silos?

Is it worthwhile bringing my bike down over Xmas?

We mucked about filming the other day and I went so high clearing the triple that my helmet froze*

*ok it didn't. And the triple feels farkin cool to jump but looks blerrie damp squib in pics and video.
