See the seeding indexes have been updated and the Winner in the 'seeding race' beat Nolan Hoffman by around 7 minutes!

Adjusted Winner's time = 02:13:44

Beta = 1.07

Have a decent result from SCT and managed to come down 3 groups! Score!

Gone from Q to D in the past 3 months! (Missed the hill climb seeding thing earlier the year, so have had to do it through races.)

Coming to catch you soon! (You up for another last man standing ride early in the New Year?)

HI guys

Forgive me in advance if my question is stupid as I am new to the forum.

So I started cycling about a year ago and had to do the Argus in the unseeded international group which was quite a pain. I ended up riding the entire race by myself as my group was super slow and the traffic very heavy. The result ws obviously not the greatest. (1:31). Since then  I have done the One Tonner and now the Stellenbosch cycle Tour doing a 2:47.

I checked PPA and my seeding is currently an E.

Can you guys tell me how good/bad that is.

I have heard that for the Argus in March the last Argus has quite a heavy weighting, is that correct? Or do they take your best seeding index?

The reason I am asking is that I am full on addicted to the sport and am aiming for a sub 3 but if I am again in a average seeding I am sure it will be tough to achieve.

Thanks in advance.

I started this earlier today with somewhat similar queries. It might be of interest

Hi Basti

You're on the cusp with that index. If the weather is great the group you're likely to be seeded in might make a sub 3 with the top 1.5% of the group. (Typically 600 starters in most groups. Less than 10 might go sub 3 from E group....) If the weather is bad, you could come first in your start group and still miss the sub3 If your index was B you would have a far greater chance as the front of that group usually finish in around 2:50 which leaves room for missing the point where the attack on the group happens from the front bunch and still able to finish sub3 with the top third of the group!

Good luck! Make sure you're strong enough to be in the front of your group on the day and can recover quick enough to stay with any surges that do go! That way you'll give yourself the chance and you'll have to hope the weather plays along!

Thank you so much for all the info. I am hoping that over the years and with more races under my belt, I will hopefully improve my seeding.

No worries. Train hard for the 99er! Try to finish in the front of your group at that race. It will be the perfect prep for the CTCT and the cherry on the cake is that it may influence your seeding for CTCT too. As mentioned before it is not officially part of the seeding run, but I know of a few people that have had their best result at that race and it has gone on to determine their CTCT start group! It is the last major event before the CTCT and the closest reflection of actual racing times for the racetec crew!

F to D , but our group was able to push a 2:35 i think ...seeding would have been a wet dream if so !

Yeah, it had the potential! Would've been super cool for seeding, but we're moving forward which is what counts!!

I started in 3f after 2 and a half years of not racing and finished first in the group in a time of 3h05. My seeding improved from O to I so I guess I should be happy. Hopefully the 99ner goes even better and I can improve another couple of groups

Thanks everyone for all the info. Yeah my seeding went from L to G with the Oner Tonner and now G to E with the SCT.

Entered the 99er. However I have heard that it wont count towards the CTCT, is that correct?
