fanievb Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I have a pair of Aqua Sphere Kayenne goggles (http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/aqua-sphere-kayenne-mens-goggle/4264) They fit perfectly and worked well up to a point. They recently started leaking (left side only) and no manner of adjustments help. I wear contacts while swimming and water inside the goggles is a big no no.should I stick with the same and replace them often or what (brand & model) would you recommend? (had speedo before, wore them once and took them back)I mainly swim in the pool with the occasional sea swim Thanks
Cheabb78 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I'm on my 3rd pair of those, most comfortable I have used. Swim in the sea a lot and this current pair is still going strong. Got a kink in the rubber with my first pair from travelling with them in my bike box, they leaked from then on...
Rocket-Boy Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I use these but the non mirror ones.http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/speed-socket-mirror-swimming-goggles/4264Were the speedos you tried not the correct shape for comfort? The socket ones are quite comfortable strangely enough.
henningvr Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I've been using the Aqua Sphere Kaiman. No leaks after about a year's usage (I swim almost every day.) http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/aqua-sphere-kaiman-goggle/4264

Wheelsuck Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Aquasphere Kayenne as well, but just be carefull with the seals, they seem to be sensitive to any place that they are stored that could get force it out of shape, try to keep mine in a hardcase most of the time.
fanievb Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 And here I am thinking: Endurobro.jpg fooook me, imagine rocking up at the IM start line with those. the "proper" tri-athletes (fashion & gear conscious lot) will shite themselves
reteid Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 zogg predator flex works for me.there is not a one size fits all when it comes to goggles.i went to a swimsquad and asked all the swimmers if I can try there goggles.that is the cheapest way to find out which goggles works for you.went out and bought the zoggs and have not swim in anything else the last 5 years.
Disylizzy Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Best googles are the ones that fit properly. To do that you place the googles over your eyes and press slightly against your face. They should stick without the help of the strap. Everyone's face is different, so what works for me won't necessarily work for you.
gongmech Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Aquasphere Vista all the way. You probably have a big nose bridge. Same problem here. Or there is a Chinese make exactly like the aquasphere but it doesnt have the insert colour layer that scratches each time you wash it.

Try this before buying a new set.Let the strap out so its at its biggest make sure both straps are in identical positions. Then put them on your face and apply a little pressure. Look up to keep the your face and then pull the straps equally on each side of your face until tight. That sorted all my leaking issues out, straps must be at identical adjustment on both sides. See if that works first.
