In order to link the Health app, you need to open the Discovery app on your phone, click on vitality and then click on devices and apps.

Once you've done this, you then may need to open the Apple Health app, click on sources at the bottom. You should see Discovery listed there- click on this and select steps, workouts etc - this will enable the pedometer in the phone to sync with Vitality.

The same needs to be done within the Health App if you use Strava.

In order to link Strava (if you use it) - login to Discovery on their website, click on Vitality and then click on "Fitness Devices and Apps".

Hope this helps

It Should Sync automatically... perhaps try reboot the phone (home button + on/off button at the same time for a few seconds). I would only worry about trying to manually sync if you notice on the Discovery site that you're not getting points for walking (Discovery website: Click: - vitality - points and status - vitality points monitor)

I would perhaps try de-link and relink if that's possible...

I know it's a mission and I figured mine out by trial and error... try this method me thinks- otherwise call Discovery (they're usually very good) or wait for Myles to help

So. Watch is going lekker. I usually have about 30-40% battery left by the end of the day (incl workouts) - so ill make a point to play a bit more

(Side note - that "Lifeline" game truly is all its hyped up to be!!!)

Re apps... So I struggled with apps...

So heres what i have learnt after a lot of playing around with

Endomondo / Strava / runkeeper / Mapmyrun / Mapmyfitnes

What I needed it to do:

1. Link to discovery

2. Link to apple health

3. Link to Myfitnesspal (calory counter)

4. Access to watch heart rate (surprise apple doesnt give this away easily)

5. Ability to enter km distance run on treadmill post workout

Endomondo : does 2 / 3 / 5

- no heart rate

- no discovery

- Even though its my favorite Its a no go

Strava does 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

- no access to your own data

- strava is very protective on your data - they also dont like 3rd party apps. They were slow to add support for various functions. But its common along

- this one has the best watch app in my opinion

Runkeeper does 1/2/3/5

- not so awesome app

Mapmyrun and Mapmyfitness does 1/3/5

- link with apple health kit is only calories. No workout data. They are working on it.

- heart rate access has been pending since the beginning

So (as Shaper said as well) there is two options if your are as particular as I am with wanting every workout being reflected accurately

1. Sync date across apps with Tapiriik - I have found that this was why my Strava times were changed

2. Use Strava - and get a foot pod to measure distance.

There is no other way

Otherwise - I have ordered a Griffin Tactical cover for my watch. I have already spotted on hairline scratch. I have read a couple of pages in forums of how easily they scratch (contrary to being grated in youtube videos) - so ill play it safe

The watch scratches easier than a vinyl record. Dont get one of you do not already have a screen cover.

Expect 1-2 noticeable scratched per day of wearing (without it making contact with anything!)

Definitely not for me then, Im heavy on watches despite trying to be careful.

You really should look at the catalyst case.

I fully agree with putting your watch in the Catalyst case.

I have and it is in my opinion by far better than other "clip" on cases because the catalyst fully covers. "Clip on" cases will gather dust between case and watch and then cause damage due to friction. My Apple Watch is now 100% water and dust proof.

#Shaper, I don't see the post by #Christiaan as spam.

This is a forum to inform and thats what has been done. Be thankful for guys like that looking out for us. If you know the history of Catalyst you'll know that the Catalyst Apple Watch case only started shipping from end Nov. SA is always left behind with new tech and gadgets. At least we are now aware that it is available and possible to protect a fairly expensive investment of some. Highly unlikely that someone from this thread would have searched the classified section under tech for specifically this case. Other online stores also get involved in threads and direct, advise and offer goods to individuals.

For the record: I did not buy my Catalyst case from bicycle nor supported them up until now. Just like the way they get involved and offer solutions and support.

I'm an office worker that does treadmill running. But for a serious athlete - I honestly won't recommend an apple watch. It's a smart watch for inside folks that needs some help with a beer boep... There's no way around that (well, obviously the Catalyst case does change that a bit)

.

Just note. The Catalyst case does not offer screen protection.

I have read (in only one review) that it may interfere with the screen if used with a screen cover - though this was only one users experience that I have found. That's why I went with the Griffin that gives both screen and case protection for 60% of the price...

I'll feedback how good/bad it works when I receive it tomorrow
