There are a fair number of options readily available, I've used Zero, Nuun and Hammer nutrition.

However, as with most sport supplements I'm not convinced that they are really needed. Since these all have zero calories, i.e. zero energy, from a performance perspective I get more benifit from caffiene than from electrolytes. E.g. Coke Zero.

If you use electrolytes for cramping, I suggest you have a look at this link: http://itsthenerve.com

I carry some pickle onions in a ziplock bag for cramping.

Sorry I is very doff here... I thought the idea of an energy drink was to get energy and electolites.

A low/no carb drink will possibly only have the latter. so drink water and eat some salts etc or mix it in the water. Why pay good money on a marketing scam.

Indeed these low gi products are also on the high side price wise.

Low carb drink on the bike really Depends..... As in, different for every person, and type of ride.... It's complicated. Water. And if you're going long or hard, add a bit of salt.

I bant too. On normal training rides i take water and high 5 zero cal. But when it's balls to the wall race pace, I carry a normal carb drink, pvm and rehidrat.
