Just a warning to all holiday makers. Earlier today there was another attempted bike jacking just before the Dunoon traffic lights. It happened as I drove past. By the time I stopped and got out they were through the fence with 2 liberated bikes. I decided to pursue on foot and another chap came around the fence at an open gate with his Ranger double cab. I hopped in and we managed to pull one liberator off a bike (and I got a few snotklappe in as well. The driver pursued the second liberator on foot while I was trying to ride down the first liberator to dish out some more justice. Eventually I decided to return to the vehicle to make sure that no one liberates the Ranger DC and after a few minutes the driver emerged from Dunoon with the second bike.

Turns out the 2 victims are from Durban and were not aware of the danger.

Bottom line: When on holiday familiarize yourself with the danger zones and be extra vigilant if you still feel like taking the risk to ride in these areas.

Lucky they weren't armed. Must have been a lekker feeling dishing out those snotklappe.

They had knifes. The driver gave me this intel when we were chasing them down. We worked out quickly what the safest way would be to split them up and separate them from the bikes. I was nervous when the driver took a few minutes to emerge with the second bike as he was in between the shacks. We seemed to have controlled the situation well.

Brilliant guys! Well done! What time was this? I cycle past there often and I'm always vigilant but this is happening more and more at that spot it seems

I was just hoping for some assistance as I ran after the 2. Without the guy in his Ranger they would have gotten away as I would not have been able to pursue them once they got to the shacks. The intel about the knives was also valuable.
