I am contemplating in going the 1 x 10 route. Struggling to find supplier of 120 BCD Narrow Wide chainring to fit my SRAM X7 (2 x 10) crankset.

What is the options available to me, short of buying a new chainring crankset?

edit = chainring  crankset.

I'll keep my eyes on this one. I know 36T will be the highest you an can go on the 120BCD.

If you can get something for the 80BCD thats another story.

Looking at 32T.

See that 120 BCD is only available in 36 & 38T. Don't have the legs for that.  :blush:

Looking at 32T.

Isn't 120 bcd a bit big for a 32t chainring?

Some quick and dirty math tells me the diameter of the chain pin centres would be around 130mm for a 32t then you still need clearance for the chain side plates to fit over the chainring bolts without touching.

There is this.

I had an SRAM X7 crank and bought the 104BCD spider to fit the 34 tooth. It cost quite a bit. I use the 40t expander at the back. With hindsight I think the 36 tooth front with the 42t expander would have been a better and cheaper option.

My biggest complaint with the 34t front is that I run out of top end speed on tar roads.

If you can remove the spider just get a direct mount ring. There are quite a few manufacturers that make them.

Cleaner looking, lighter and you can go all the way down to a 28t if you feel the need.

Unfortunately my crankset does not have the remove-able spider.

Then you're stuck with either a cup of cement and a 36 or a new crankset...
