Anyone got feedback on the above?

After many years of running in a neutral shoe (cumulus and nimbus) I've been advised after a running and gait analysis to change to a more stable shoe ( pronation control) like the Kayano or gt2000

i need a shoe with good forefoot cushioning and the Kayano does this and provide pronation control, but Joh it are expensive

I can't comment on the kayano but I run with the GT-2000.

I used to run with GT1000 which was more neutral orientated, my main concern with the 1000 was burning feet due to inadequate cushioning.

The 2000 has alleviated the issue and I'm a lot more comfortable with them. Knees are also fine.

BTW my choice was between the kayano and the GT 2000 and I got the GT 2000 as they are a higher milage shoe (I'm training for 2 Oceans) and they are a bit cheaper than the kayano

My most recent purchase ws the Kayano 21 ( now 22 is the latest model) and I only bought them because the store did not have GT2000 3 in stock at the time. I can say that I have not felt any real improvement over the GT2000 (3) model so not sure its worth the extra coin. Looking at the picture above the GT2000 and Kayano seem to have the same properties so maybe that's why I have not really felt a huge difference. The Kayano;s feel a bit snugger on my feet for the same size.

BTW the Kayano here is R2249...what they cost there?

In a nutshell , I think either show will suit and one is not necessarily an upgrade of the other. I have run maybe 2000 kays in GT2000's and only around 150 in Kayano at this point.

kayano is somewhat lighter than the GT 2000 and the inner is a bit harder.

its also supposed to have fewer stitching to help with sockless running

well if I had a blind fold test an you put one on the one foot , the other on the other foot ...I would be hard pressed to identify which is which save for the fact the kayano fits snugger on my foot. I aint no expert runner but both models are excellent shoes and I will never run with anything else

I have the Kinsei 5's and they feel a lot better than the GT2000's I used to run with.

Strange on that chart it isnt listed for overpronation but Im a sever operpronator.

Long runs are blissful in those shoes. Anything less than 5k's I run in my Newtons though, those things are so light its like running in socks.

When i got my new orthotics the other day, i tried a pair of Kayano's and could feel that they were much more stable compared to my nimbus...to be expected. Unfortunately they did not have a GT of any sort in my size so could not try them.

If the orthotics were made for the Nimbus aren't you going to have issues going for a Kayano??

Bought mine here but only run in them twice before i tore my ligaments.

I had a pair of Nimbus and the Kayano's gave way more support.

No the orthotic apparently does not control the over pronation, the main goal is to support / correct issues with my forefoot.

I asked them to compare the nimbus and kayano on their video treadmill with and without the orthotic and it was quite obvious that the only thing that controlled the pronation was the kayano's.

Its amazing the good deals that you can get just across the border in Germany

Are the prices in Luxumburgli also more expensive compared to Deutschland?

Nike and New Balance prices are just crazy.

I bought direct from the factory shop too. My Kinseis were R900, new price is R2600.

Mate of mine bought the same shoes and ran trail with them, put his toes through the toebox on both shoes and ended up replacing them at full price.

Most comfy shoes I have ever put my foot in but fairly heavy.
