I won't do that again in a hurry. As if the conditions weren't bad enough, it was about 6 Km's back to the start from finish line.

~4-6km was easy after 100km solo TT

I still find it strange that the back groups (I dropped back to help friend out) just don't want to work together, after 50km I simply gave up helping others and said to my friend, going set pace, you just hang on.  Was worst 60km back ever, the wind was just relentless and no one else to just duck behind for 5 min of rest....  She managed top 20 women, so all and all  a good day out.

Did the short one, I am soooper lazy at the moment. There was about half the amount of people compared to last year. Another road race that will soon be no more I think.

For the long route numbers about the same as last year.

agree , rather just ride with my club which is sort of racing conditions combined with obeying traffic signals. just can't afford to blow almost R500 for me and very keen cycling son. so i drop him off and if close by head back to suburbs for club ride or do a tour of surroundings without interfering with ppa ride. roll on wp cycling league which is still a reasonable entry price.

Only if you a junior and a club member, otherwise the same price as PPA.

Don't know how you found the race... yes there was wind but what got my blood boiling was i had a mechanical on vissershok... then on my own through durbanville and the marshalls didn't do their job... I screamed asking them which side??? They were more interested in chatting to each other than to give directions...

As luck wasn't on my side just after that the second robot a car went over as the light turned green...nearly hitting me!!! I was very frustrated by this event...and then it was all over for me catching the group! Later on strava i saw i was nearly catching up with them but that left me riding alone for a better part of 75 Km's.

I was always supportive on PPA and on their events but now i see what some people mean! I felt like stopping and not finishing the ride... maybe i should have !

PPA ...please please please sort the guys that were there to give directions...

Marshaling was very poor. Nearly got taken out by a Calvinist on his way to church in the family bakkie. Cops didn't pul him over either for dangerous driving. So what's the point of marshaling and traffic police presence..?

Anyone know how the guy is doing who had quite a bad fall at the 4-way stop? Think it was the one leading up to Vissies. Ambulance was there when I went past and he was in the ditch on the left being attended to. Didn't look good.

Anyone know what happened?

My friend ended up on the gravel as well, the shoulder of the road was apparently in the shade so not easy to see where there tar ended, she was lucky that she could stop before ditch and not fall

Guess something similar happened, just much greater speed.

When we went pass he was sitting upright, holding stomach and tons of roasties, ambo sirens was still in distance.
