The oake bailed properly right on the finish line LITERALLY going OTB!!

He then stood up and felt like a right chop so tossed (not threw) his helmet over to where the bike had gone - I think to make light of his situation! ????????????

Additionally, he was either a 10k or 17k rider and NOT on the half marathon.

Please next time CHECK YOUR FACTS!

From the video I saw, he went over the bars and his biked then flipped over the finishing "fences" into the hospitality area. He didn't throw his bike, just his helmet (probably after realising how silly his fall was)

Video link please. This has been built up too much to now not see it.

I observed a very unpleasant incident at the finishing line at Sabie on Sunday. A half marathon participant tossed his bike into the hospitality area just before the finishing line and followed the horrendous act by tossing his helmet over too. He then walked over the line and only later came and to fetch his bike an helmet.

His unacceptable behaviour deserves stern disciplinary action by the covering body in form of a lengthy suspension from the sport. He must learn to respect others and the values of the sport. My view is that this participant has to named and shamed to prevent future rants in public.

Please calm down.

Did you take down his race number? Then we can do some detective work. I'm in for name and shame, a bike tosser, disgusting.

WHAT! That was spectacular!  I give that a 10. Masterfully executed and what a graceful follow through

Irony is

The guy who took the video is the dad of the guy who wins the 1/2 marathon by a mile!! Definately no 1/2 marathon participant winning "most epic OTB" at finish line prize ????

Once saw a female competitor throw her bike into the sloot on the N14....it scared her boy friend/husband/skief.....it scared me too. Then last year I saw an Aunty loose her Spazie off the end of the sandstones at Clarens, in the half marathon.....very spectacular....she may have given it a nudge, taking into account the type of bike it was.
