Must be too much power! I'm weak but light, so I make my time on climbs and descents :D

Ditto sounds like me,but not sure about the climbs though.

My wife wouldn't come watch when my son did the downhill national there a few years ago ... I rolled down it with Wendell to take some pics, measure the course and get some elevation stats. Even then I walked at least 75% of it ... #girlsrodeit

For sure proper scary. You need a cut out in the saddle to ride that course. Not for me afraid. Did the wooden jump by the parking lot once,then was carrying to much speed for the table top. Put it this way not ever going to do it again ????. Found my limit very quickly. Just before I ejected myself in to space..... What a ???? Head.

On the carbon frame about 300km. On my old aluminium frame about 1800km... no problem.

what fork you running currently Any dea of axle to crown measurement ?

If that's the biggest jump you going to do then you will never have an issue (unless you see your a$$ properly). I hit stuff like that all the time and never had an issue.

 

 

I was talking about hitting stuff like this which Minn and a few other DH boys have on 130-140mm bikes.

hhhhmmmm won't be doing that or even close to that. Not even in my dreams. Even that jump as per my pic is well out of my capabilities and size of my manhood. So I am good to go .

140 travel on a TB2. Why not look for a TBLT frame instead. Designed to run 140 up front.

Whish I found this thread earlier. Built up a 2016 rocky mountain element. I ordered a 130mm revelation thinking it'd be fine since I'm quite heavy (100+) and enjoy rocky stuff like contermanskloof black route etc. Was trying to build a do it all bike that wouldn't be a pig on occasional 50km+ xc fun ride or even stage race. The fork travel initially didn't bother and felt great but the rear shock always felt too linear (haven't tried tokens yet). Once I dropped the travel down to 120mm up front (with some bottomless tokens) the bike came alive. Climbed with agility and accuracy (no wheelies up the mast at contermanskloof). Descended balanced and somehow changed the way the rear shock performed. So I guess manufacturers/engineers have good reason to give travel range guides on frames. And it's to do with geo and suspension behaviour. Less travel up front doesn't always equate to a less capable bike. Also bottomless tokens for the win.

Thats interesting,awesome. What is the recommend travel from Rocky on the fork? And rear travel is 100 ??
