I was talking about the prosecution of minor crimes in the pursuit of cleaning up a culture of corruption/gangsterism/etc that was prevalent at the time. Maybe wrong terminology on my part. And yes, given what has happened in the States with taking this to a ludicrous degree and filling private prisons with minor offenders, it's not a panacea. But a damn side better than letting things slide. I have done my bit... But the bakkie discussion probably have a better chance to tow this thread to Friday...
