One would think that if you are strong enough to pose for powerful pictures like that you are probably strong enough to brush off some idiots snide remarks, perhaps this is more about getting back at him than her actually feeling offended.

Victoria is retired, she only gave some support to Jess who got shafted from the team following the shambles at the London Worlds where they failed to qualify for the Olympics, her and others laid the blame on the management , see the video in that BBC link I posted.

IMO.. Victoria's pics are not at all insulting to women.. that is a woman confident and comfortable with her amazing body.. what is however sexist IMO is telling a woman to go have babies instead .

And if it goes on performance why is the door still slightly open for Cavendish to go to the Olympics if he did not meet their criteria?

Also the whole. .only medals count.. come on how many times before have we not seen the entire British mens team abandon a race.. one that springs to mind is also that world champs where the weather was all bad.. not one finished

No fluff on Vickie that's for sure, and highly accomplished, one of the best ever on the track. Contrast those pics to all those anorexic models you see all to often.

The issue with qualifying: the Women's Sprint team (?) missed a spot at the Olympics by something like 1/400 of a sec, see what Sir Hoy has to say about it in a video that BBC link I posted. With Cav is a bit different: they have a spot in the Omnium already, so they can pick the team, Cav is still an option, I think someone else was injured recently  which opened it up for him. Shane had said it had to be on merit though although I am sure they would all like him on the team, but not at the expense of a talented youngster, but I get the feeling there is a bit of lad issue there.

We haven't heard from The Wig (or his wife) on the skandaal, but Shane was a big factor behind his success, I have the full story in some doccie I have.

So yeah, mixed legacy.

It's a shame.. if you read what Victoria said.. how women's imput is not regarded. .what a shame and this when women's cycling is really in a good place and growing all the time, we are seeing more and more ladies racing on tv/steaming. . So for the Brits to be so behind with it is a crying Shame.

Even women's cycling in SA has a stronger voice than there..

I had some interaction with VP in 2012/13 when she was doing some work with the company I worked for at the time. She is nobody's fool, she is really switched on and she was at all times clear, humble, honest and a real pleasure to work with.

Loved VP book. A complicated woman with issues but certainly no ones fool. She was not well treated as a cyclist, that's a fact.

As for her photographs, and here I comment as a photographer. They are lovely. Powerful, technically accomplished and in no way demeaning to woman. What we see is a woman's body trained to perfection. It's inspiring. If you can't deal with the images you need to deal with your own issues.

Stunning series of pics of VP, love the use of b&w tones. The wheel one kind off reminds me of Michaelangelo's 'David'.

I think those photos are beautiful and am eternally grateful for the rampant sexism towards men in the photography and modelling world that we have not been subjected to Messrs Wiggins, Froome, Thomas or any of the Sky boys with their kit off.

The kit doesn't leave that much to the imagination:
