While I have been mostly impressed with the organisation I do have a major gripe.

There is no water handed out to rides at the water points, meaning unsupported

riders have to stop or dehydrate. And stopping is not really an option if you are

racing.

Yeah, had that last year. Just had to beg from those with support crews and buy them beer after stage.

I tried doing without but lost the plot on the final climb.

Ended up getting some water from a lady who was supporting her husband from the side of the road. My guardian angel!

wow. race stopped.

I mean wind speeds in excess of 50km/hr.

What were the winds in the dubai race?

Yeah. Dubai had full road closures..wouldn't want a stray getting blown into traffic.

What were the winds in the dubai race?

"There was just too much wind to race safely and we would have taken a huge risk even trying,” Vegni explained to the media waiting for news at the stadium. “Weather forecasts expected another increase in the strength of the wind in the afternoon, with a wind at 35 knots, which is around 65km/h. Gusts were also likely and that would have been far too risky for the riders, and it could have caused a lot of crashes.

At the #togh they already pondered whether to not start, but started and then after the first crash they stopped the race. They might've been blown off Bains Kloof [emoji33]

Tim, there was a crash earlier. Report said worried about wind gusts the most, so called it off before bains kloof arrived.

Does this then also apply to all the other start groups?

There was a bike stolen from one of the foreign riders, he is looking to borrow a 48-50cm bike for 2 days. Anyone got a spare at home?
