Rupert Von Tutschek Available though WPenduro and Dirtopia. Good base events to start from.

Rupert Von Tutschek It's a weekend of riding. Come watch the race, ride the trials and enjoy the Sunday fun ride. Big party too on the Saturday. It's also good to have something to strive for Timothy Price.

Ya kinda bleak about this. It seems more like an awesome go out and ride ungroomed trails than an actual Enduro event.

Any idea where we may be able to do something similar? Wolfberg area any good for this?

Go ride Eselfontein anytime. They have a campsite/eco-village (you get the entire site to yourself when you book) and a guesthouse. Awesome trails all over the farm and you can pretty much ride any trail you see. Loads of singletrack (90%) and that enduro section is properly technical.

For the Wolfsberg area - start from Sandrift farm (Cederberg Wines). Restricted to marked trails but awesome technical stuff. About a 3 hour ride if you do the whole thing. Shorter options available.

LOVE that eco village. Just beware the donkey...

Ah noit, thought Eselfontein was only open during the #Enduro :)

Psyched to learn it's open.

Must hit up Wolfberg again for a good climb and then MTB another day. Shot for the info.

Here's a thought. Go to Ezelfontein - for a group to stay at the Ecohuts it's just over R200 pp incl riding permits. Check the Stravaaaa or ask Daniel nicely for directions to last year's stages - access to 3 and 4 are on someone else's land so leave those out. Ride, walk, ride, repeat.

Edit: Thanks MTBeer, great minds and all that.

Nope. Open all year, just need to book well in advance. The eco huts have a fantastic braai area, both indoor and outdoor. You can order wood from the owners for faaarking cheap prices, and the donkey boiler (whilst very old school) supplies the hottest water I've yet found at a campsite anywhere.

Nearby dam is most excellent, and the trails, whilst not terribly well marked, are very good. Well worth the trip.

Good idea and then get a photo shoot and make sure everyone who wasn't invited knows they weren't?

You gotta be part of that exclusive club that gets invited to the event ya know.

Something about this sticks in my craw- can't put a finger on it but maybe its that publicity generated about an event that isn't open but gets championed as loudly as this one does.

A far better and inclusive way is to invite all comers and make sure everyone knows its a toughie.

Not impressed. Again.

Super cheap as well if you rent out the whole joint with some mates. Great trails, good times.... oh... actually... It's ***, don't go there... over priced and savage rabid donkeys everywhere. Stay away. ;)
