;) i was reaching for stuff to justify the much higher price. But that arctic grey color on the lever body is really nice. The carbon blade is still black, and they didn't use a layup pattern that screams carbonz! on the lever. It's rather unnoticeable unless you eyeball it up close.

REALLY close.

Thanks everyone for the detail and info!!! Highly appreciated.

My head is going towards the Guide RSC.

Remember - the pad contact adjustment on the RSC costs you about R1500..... i have NEVER used it...

It is your money... :)

Only difference is the contact point adjustment, which IMO is over-rated. Love my RS's.

And forget about the weight. You're looking for a superior stopper, and the difference will be marginal at best.

I think the RSC uses bearings on the levers, where the RS use bushings? Results in smoother lever feel.

I have had RSC, RS and R. RS is the way to go. RSC is a waste of money. I currently ride R as they are perfectly good for me but there is a slight difference in the RS.

The Ultimate, RSC and RS models all use the swinglink tech at the lever, whereas the R doesn't.

SRAM says this about swinglink:

Squeeze a new SRAM brake lever and you notice it immediately. Less deadband. More positive pad engagement. A new cam system requires less lever throw to push the pads toward the rotor. That’s great, but there’s more to perfect braking performance than just power. You need control. Many brake systems minimize deadband—but at the cost of modulation. SwingLink solves that with its special cam shape. When the pads contact the rotor, power is modulated, avoiding that “on/off” brake feel. It’s the perfect balance of power and precision.

How different does the R and RS lever action feel?

Ok....so I decided to go with the RSC Guide Brakeset!!!

Thank you everyone for the feedback!!!
