Yip. Just seen the Joburg2c uploads. There's a nice 23% section coming out the valley, with the average being nearly 9% over 4km's.

us back markers are going to have to beg for a cut off time extension, walking 4km is going to take some time :)

I am doing an 80k on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday to see how my bum holds up

YOH! That's almost like doing the whole Sani2C just with a rest day inbetween. That's the problem with runners - they dont know it's not supposed to hurt!

How did it go? I wasn't going to even follow this thread - but must admit right now I'm a bit jealous! Enjoy and have a vanilla milkie for me the second night.

We did an 80 yesterday and today. At about 60k today my bum had enough. Legs felt ok, but bum not so much. We have decided to skip the rest in between to really simulate the 3 days. Tomorrow we are only doing 50k. So let's see how the legs feel tomorrow.

Just watched the video of day 8 Joberg2C, not sure if I am excited or scared! A bit of both to be honest. Providing one survives day 2 it will be cool to be able to say that you rode the Sani in which Iconic Climb made a debut!

I see the batches are out, do these change much between now and start of race or they pretty much finalized?

Those are the final batches for Day 1. Your starting batch for Day 2 will be based on your Day 1 time.

@slowbee, which iteration of the sani are you and the missus doing?

we are doing the adventure.

as an aside, a quick scan of windguru for ixopo and the finish suggest that friday is going to be a wet day  . The last day, which is in my mind the best day, is going to be wet and miserable.

We need to share a beer or two then!!

I'm terribly unprepared for this, and the missus is fresh off J2C....I'm hurting already.

Assume then that day 1 and 2 are not looking too bad?

  , perfect recipe.

I must say, am kinda worried about this new route on Day 2.

My wife has done 2 mountain bike rides in her life. The 14km argus mountain bike ride in 2009, and then the 25km ride for knysna in 2009.

This is going to be her first ride over 50km as well as her first stage race. So technically she will be doing 3 rides over 3 days.
