I like stages like this....they often end up being a lot more fun to watch than the super hilly/mountain stages. Good viewing for the stage win and GC guys....

I agree..

Impressed with the way Froomey closed that gap on that last rise. He made sure to catch the main contenders ... and then managed to drop two of the big ones. Not good signs for Berty and Quinney, really wonder whats up with him. Any ideas?

Meinchees just suffered from team failure to ride a good TT that's now got him on the back foot. And ... I've never seen him take on the race and go. So interesting to see if the time loss will make him do something interesting.

He's going to Trek next year so he say to follow the tradition, Schlecky, then Ryder and next Bertie

If 'Berto does not hang on today then it's probably done and dusted for him for the win. Hopefully yesterday was a one off and he can get back to his attacking self.

So, the official line is that TvG is not there to chase GC but to chase base miles

Heard the commentator say that last night....like ja right.

When my racing doesn't go according to plan and I get dropped... it always becomes a training ride!!  :whistling:

My impression of TvG is that he's also registered as one of those "also" runs. His unfortunate shortcoming of one (or two, or three) off days just explodes his overall attempt to put in a strong GC challenge.

Pity Port got smashed up in the Olympics. Still wanna see him put a whole 21 day event together with success. Reason he went to BMC after all.
