Sold the Scott and bought a Specialized.  Bike is great but non-Spez owners dish out so much hate... So sad, no friends left, lonely rides etc.  Why oh why  :whistling:  ;)

gopro black    bloody pointless always saying ill use it to record awful sa drivers

never happens :whistling:  its a fancy paperweight with fancy accessories

BUT at least I have never purchased a Fizik Arione saddle which judging by the classifieds on bikehub is the most regretted and unwanted bike related purchase out there :w00t:

Biggest mistake was buying "boring" coloured wheels and components.

Black hope hubs

Black rims

Black bars

That moment when someone else comes past and his bike looks waaay too similar to yours. Makes me sad sometimes.

The Fizik Tundra that came with my worst purchase (being the first Anthem 29er) was an even worse purchase attached to a worst purchase.

My last mountain bike. Waste of money. Never ride it. Bought my first MTB in 1992 and rode like a crazy person all over the place. Toured and commuted and raced. Stage races, one day events, 24 hour team events and 24 hour solo. Week long tours and even a 6 month tour.

Sick of it. Hate bike parks. Don't like the two man team format for stage races. Get annoyed with the constant grazes and bruises from silly crashes caused by a lack of skill and concentration. Much prefer the catastrophic hospitalisation I have every two years on a road bike.

Perhaps one day I will get back to it meantime it was a badly spent 30K

Merida Big 9 TFS (lost R1300 on resale)

Rudy Project Zumax helmet (lost R500 on resale)

Specialized Allez comp DSW (lost R200 on resale)

All bought brand new and sold within 2-3 months of purchase, gave up on buying things based on Hype

I wont buy a gopro.....although people with gopros seem to enjoy riding behind me, I think it is because sooner or later you will see me eat some dirt. Ask Chukky....he has me going over the bars. And it was not an "awesome" crash, It was a " what a noob" one. Im expecting one day to get a blackmail letter

Depending on your level of attractiveness, it may not solely be for your crashes.

I have a list

  • My first set of maxxis Crossmarks. (didnt know they had to be LUST to run tubeless)
  • Saddlebag
  • Avid Juicy Ultimate (need I say more)
  • Ashima PCB Pistonless brakes. (Almost worse than the Avids)
  • Carbon Spez Stumpy, (was pretty but never actually had fun on it)
  • Carbon Silverback MTB for the wife. Honestly think she has done 40km on it in 3 years.
  • All the riding kit for the wife.
  • 29er Carbon frame that used BB30 and the XX crank to go with it. I'm heavy on Bearings, they lasted about 500km.
  • Bontrager MTB shoes, both Ratchets broke  within 1 year.
  • OLD Anatomic bibs. Were good for 1 ride.
