Condolences to the family and friends of Randall. I met him only a few times on the road when we both travelled the same direction as he did his morning training ride towards Muizenberg & me on my way to work. A really nice, friendly guy who was very quick on a bike, his easy ride had me in pain. Strength to the family at this time.

Always sad to hear of a fellow cyclist senselessly taken out by a motorist. 95% of us are both motorists and cyclists and are likely to be more aware of each other but then you get this element that just doesn't care. Very sad.

RIP Randall.

Was very fortunate to have been on a few training rides with him. He was a top bloke, and will be sorely missed by all his friends and family.

I didn't know him personally but I'll pay my respects there on the 6th. Does anyone know if there is a fund set up for his family at all?

"was flung 60 metres after being struck by a car"

WTF! The motorist must have been speeding like crazy!!  :cursing:

My first thought too - that's longer than the length of an Olympic swimming pool for goodness sake!
