Hi,

I'm doing the 48km mountaineering!! Looks like it rained this week and might rain over the weekend. Will this cause a mudfest or will I be able to get my big butt up the maintain without slipping off?

Thanks.

We had a lot of rain on Wednesday night,  (and we are so grateful as the drought is real bad- our dam was only 8,5% full last week) but none since yesterday morning. It apparently rained a lot more in town than up in mountains and forestry.

It's been fairly overcast but drying out. There will be some muddy patches, mostly in forestry areas, but seriously doubt it will be mudfest- provided there isn't anymore rain...

Coming back through 14 Streams is going to great fun!!!

I'll just have one bottle with me on the ultra, but there are ample water points so I'll stop if necessary.

I will definitely look out for the FLUGON gazebo!

Seems to still be on track and not too much mud!

Hi guys, no rain since Wednesday night! The town does not have damages such as other areas. No rain yesterday or last night - and I am current on the field - its HOT! No rain predicted until Saturday evening

P.S. no doubt that there will be mud in places - we want you to have some fun!

If it rained fairly heavily the road might be washed away slightly in places, but that just makes all the climbing that much more fun!

A bit of mud is fine, but I really don't like mudfests...

I'm also starting to get nervous for my first real Ultra.

Thanks guys... the race was really well organized!!!

As this was my backyard when growing up... I have a slightly biased opinion, BUT....

The new route Ultra was awesome with loads of Forrest climbing, and downhill... and some of the most awesome mountain trail landscapes that makes this race totally unique

Yes!! It was a hard race as always before...

But definitely worth the trip from Cape Town... time and again!!

Well done Barberton XCM...

I'LL BE BACK
