............. Use Garmin "LiveTrack" so my wife can track me the whole ride ........................ My wife knows my routes I ride and where I should be at different times so when she wakes up she checks if I'm around the right spot.

My wife wants to do something similar, but really it was just that one time and anyway, the marriage counsellor said it wouldn't rebuild trust.

Also have ICE setup on my phone, there's a nifty trick for medics ig your phone is locked. They can just touch 'Emergency' on the bottom left of the screen.

If you've filled out all your emergency info on the phone settings, it'll show up there without them needing to unlock your phone.

Instructions: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2489237,00.asp

Suppose for good measure it's an idea to screen grab that print and laminate to keep inside the phone cover.

Shot bra! I must be one of the dof ones that didn't know about this, but that's the problem when you have a 'smart phone' that is cleverer than you

ICE ID is the way to go. Have been wearing mine for the past 3 years and all the numbers are still as new. Very hard wearing.

Have 3 ICE numbers on it, as well as blood type, medical aid details and organ donor status.

Hope the poor chap comes right.

Something I have done on all my families bikes and helmets is add stickers with ICE details including medical aid detail. 1 sticker each side of helmet as in crash, there is a good chance 1 half of the helmet will be wrecked. Used stickers made with a Brother label printer which is fairly resilient stuff. Might look a bit 'uncool' but anything that improves your chances after an accident trumps 'cool'.

I've got ICE details on my phone but tend to assume the phone will possibly lost /broken in crash and therefore need am alternative. I like the idea of using/carrying an old drivers license someone mentioned earlier.

When i ride alone i always tell my wife which route i will ride and how long i would be gone. I also carry one of those cheap nokia phones with me. (the ones that are like the old 3310s but the newer one) I keep it off in my back pocket but there is no password or pin. You just switch it on and i have all my ice numbers on there with there relationship to me. Wife, Brother, Friend etc.

So that if someone needs to phone they at least know to say we have your husband or your brother here.

Then i also had an ice bracelet made by the guys that were mentioned earlier but they dont know how to measure their bands and after buying 2 they dont fit so its wrapper around my stem on my bike as well. Thats got my wifes number and medical details on it. (now that i think about it my medical aid details has changed so i should actually get a new one made)

Luckily for me, if I stop moving for more than 5minutes on a ride, my wife somehow knows and immediately thinks that I am having an affair. Choppers, planes and most of the Expendables get dispatched......

Hope the cyclist recovers.

I however question the construction taking place ? I assume this is the start of the new development - so where does this leave Modders as a cycling venue.

Is this the beginning of the end?

I might be mistaken but I don't think it has anything to do with the construction happening around Moder, I think it is prep for the rain coming as well as fire breaks should that also happen. Considering how dry it is there it shouldn't be long before a fir breaks out. Forward thinking from the Moder crew

No, I don't think it has anything to do with the development. In fact, rumour has it that the Chinese developers have run out of moola, so it has stalled.

I think you will enjoy that - now please book a skills course - Peach is your man.... :) old bones don't like hitting the deck - and the camber will tempt you to go faster than skills allow... My Enduro certainly does.... and it bit me 10 days ago - still feeling it... although I have ordered a new helmet.... should have it today.
