back to the story, how has Lauf forks done? You'd think they would either be a success or the fad would die down and they'd disappear. It's hard to remain a unique niche product with so many trusted alternatives.

They're totally unique, and i don't see any copy cats out there.

does any manufacturer large spec a model with them, even design around them?

I reckon the gravel market will help their sales. I've seen a few "bespoke" gravellers with a Lauf option.

There will always be a place for a lightweight short travel low maintenance fork I reckon. Perfect fork for ultra distance racing in my opinion.

There are several "fringe" alternative systems, this being one.  I'm sure it has a small following of disciples, but for me I think its name says it all.

what bike do you ride pygaschmyga?  a fringe manufacturer by any chance?

I have a German Answer fork on my gravel hardtail - I don't think it's specced on any bike and its awesome and 1108 or 1180 grams - given the impressive results of that gamble, I'm happy to try the lauf - I will admit I'm soft, I found my cannondale slate a bit harsh on the gravel I ride - I will try the lauf on my Open first, just so I can weigh in below 7.5 on a large hardtail.  Watch this space for an honest review from an average at best rider.

Did not realise there are that many rad people from that side of the world on the hub!

We got a van at Island lake so visit the area regularly!

happy to ride with you - I'm around from 30th of december but it better be a rest day for you - I think we ride at vastly different paces - I can see you van from my house, think there's a squatter in it after the fires we've had here

was going to post this  - watched it this weekend - had no idea they were based in Iceland and loved the fact that the pub and coffee section is bigger than their office space - have yet to start the Lauf project as I'm waiting for my frame to come back from painting - going to be a cheap build as I have all the parts - the horror on the 'dale' acolytes face will be the most enjoyable part of the build as the lefty gets tossed in the bin in favour of the Lauf
