I'd hazard a guess that 95% of riders (me included) don't know what a Blue trail is supposed to have. They just know that Green is easier than Blue is easier than Black

Don't think so. Your china's foot was an avoidable obstacle.  Unless his feet are so big that they take up the whole parking lot......

Welvanpas is graded by distance, which is a fallacy adopted in SA for some reason.  No basis in trail features.
