I once said something bad about CWC on here after, several years ago, i drove through to their shop for a sale. I bought a couple of items that was marked down and got home only to find they didn't apply the discount. (yeah yeah my mistake but it shouldn't have happened in the first place) but anyways back to the point, i once said something bad and i was flamed so bad on this forum that i still some nights wake up in a cold sweat, crying.

I order almost everything online these days, and not everyone gets in right all the time, my issue is the communication. Why go to the effort of deleting my mail, but don't take the time to respond.

Yup, communication is key. If there is going to be a delay, communicate so to your customer. Then I'll patiently wait for them to resolve it.

I live far from any big cities so most of my bike part purchases are online. I've found that most of the time the courier company determines whether I'm happy or not. Price and speedy delivery are what's important when online shopping. But once your package has left the shop there's not much they can do. I know the one courier company, RAM I think, only delivers in my area on Fridays. Which is a little annoying..

 

As for CWC, I've been a happy customer for a long time now. Never had any real issues with them.

I have stopped using certain online stores (well one actually) because they use a courier that i have had too many issues with. And I have told them that its because of the courier that they have lost a client.

I usually find that when I talk on the phone the words come out a whole lot quicker than when I type an email. And then the reply only takes about 2 seconds instead of a couple hours.

I Tend Not to Like Talking on the phone.. From Years of experience people lie/forget etc..

and when you follow up a second time... I Never Said that and change their story ... however have it on email.. and you have black and white proof..

 

things can also escalate a lot quicker with phone calls, tempers rise words get said etc.

and in today's era of online shopping why do i want to speak to somebody... I shouldn't have to.

No response from CWC yet.

 

Anyone have a recipe to share? The koeksiester recipe was klas, but there's a little cafe across the road from my house that sells awesome ones. I buy more than I need and freeze the rest, then defrost in the airfryer. The airfryer caramelises the syrup, so it's a bit crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside.

Also very disappointed in then 2/3 times I ordered, only to receive half the order. It smees to me some people find it difficult to read 1 or 2 of a certain product, they assume you are taking just 1 of the product. I found the only way is to email them on their general email address and not on an individual address.

sounds like when Afrihost was sold to MTN. Dooooooowwwwwn hillllllll.

Afrihost then bought back their shares after realizing that.

The reason you have not received any notifications is because you shopped anonymously i.e. you were not logged in. Only our logged in users received notifications and updates. However, you would have noted during checkout that your tracking number is your order number with the prefix “cwc” eg. cwc12345

 

The reason your parcel was delayed is because you opted for an instore collection. Even though you are in JHB, we have numerous clients opting for this outside of CT. They do this when they send their own couriers or in the area on holiday/business. This is not out of the ordinary for us.

 

We noted your email to ship, but due to this being outside of our standard procedures, it took an additional working day to process.

 

With this thread attracting much attention, we’d like to take this opportunity to communicate that the ideal shopping experience on our site requires the following:

 

  • Make sure your browse is updated to the latest version
  • Log in (before adding to your cart)
  • Shop
  • Make sure you understand the implications of the options you are selecting
  • If you using EFT, we cannot ship until our accounts department confirms the amount is in our account.
  • EFT reference MUST be your order number.
  • Apple browse pop ups must be allowed (For Paygate purposes)

I order from CWC more often than my budget allows and have always had excellent service - including help with a guarantee replacement of a bottle cage.
