Can anyone help me with A bleed adapter , its for A shimano m447 caliper.

the port is recessed so it needs an adapter that will screw in , rather than the old nipple system with A hose could just pop over.

I live in centurion and work in Faerie Glen , compensation can be provided with beer or cupcakes

Jacques at Cogent Industries sell some pretty cool bleed kits that have all the screw in bits and pieces if you don't come right...

I work for him :D we don't have A single adapter in whole shop that fits :D ( and we have one moerse universal kit )

Hahaha cool to see him getting some extra hamds on - congrats on the job! But then, I unforunantely have no advice. All I know is the bleed kit he gave me a while back has a shyte load of screw adapaters...

Good luck!

Have a look at some of the micro-irrigation fittings, i.e. the barbed to threaded adaptors. I’ve used those before. Also being plastic, you can “help” them conform to the thread you have, without damaging the brake component. ?

Have a look from page 21 it looks like the top is a hex screw to open the bleed port and the bleed port (where the hose goes) is actually on the side above the cable tie.

I would like to support the one or two bike shop fans on this thread.

1. Take non shimano brakes off.

2. Bin them.

3. Put shimano.

4. Take to the bike shop.

5. Repeat step 4 every two years or when you have problems.

Cant you use a bleed nipple from a XT or SLX brake and and thread it in the recessed port? Just an idea. Not sure if the threads are the same though...

I need the adapter

Not saying you don't need an adapter, but based on your photo and the diagram provided in the manual that is not where the bleed hose should go.

Correct. That's the bleed screw, unscrew it by half a turn and see where the oil comes out. It'll be a bit below and to one side.

Help needed!

I have been trying to get my brakes to how I like them. I like them pretty firm and very little travel when being pulled.

I have however been having endless problems trying to get them like this, now it is possible, they were once like this and my wifes and kids bikes are both like this. I have XT brakes but for the past 6 months they just seem to be spongy. I am constantly having to pump them to get them to be firm and this is on a ride so I always have to plan my braking way before I need it to give it a quick  one two so they ready when I need them.

I have had the bike shop bleed them, I have bled them, I got the guy at wines2whales to bleed them but no joy. I have done a complete bleed from bottom to top, had the lever rebuilt etc...

Am I missing something here? Is there still air in the system, and if so is there a way to get it out? I have pumped the levers hundreds of times at different angles trying to get bubbles out but nada....
