'Dale Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 I can actually explain this... The undercut thins out the hair which makes it easier to handle and not so heavy on your head especially when you tie it up, it also gives more shape and you don't end up looking like you have a grass roof as hair. He has worn his hair like that since he cut off the long hair. Sent from my SM-N9005 using TapatalkMore on Sagz Baby's hair It obviously keeps him cooler and reduces aero drag around the neck area ????
'Dale Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Anyone seen the weather forecast for today? Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk Weather: cloudy with some sun at times, 18°C and a 20km/h wind from the west, meaning a light crosswind for 90% of the stage before a headwind for the final 20 minutes until the reach the finish in Longwy where they zig and zag to the finishing straight with a tailwind. Bateleur1 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Anyone seen the weather forecast for today? Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk Weather in general will be clearing this week getting pretty warm for most of the week. Chances of thundershowers towards the weekend for most parts but in general looking good.

Velouria Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 When other teams use similar tech in their suits - nothing. Not being biased in opinion but it really is getting a bit like sour grapes in terms of tech and the use thereof. Sky puts 4 riders in the top 10 of the TT in the rain so it has to be their skinsuit. Nothing to do with bike handling or tyre choice (which in the wet could possibly have provided a greater advantage) Everyone laughs at Sky's "marginal gains" claims but are quick to nit pick when they get piped at the line or stopwatch. So if it is illegal - ban it or shut it simple as that. Can't really be called marginal gains if others are doing it. And to think others don't have bike skills or worry about tyre pressure is extremely naive. This is more worrying though:

Long Wheel Base Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 He he he.. it's a trick that the hairdressers are using atm.. I know this because I have a lot of hair and when I went to have my long hair cut off last year (because i got gatvol of headaches etc ) I did something similar. .only my hair is not in a bob shape and much shorter..it really is wash and wear now.[emoji106] Sent from my SM-N9005 using TapatalkWhen I was still at school we used to have undercuts. My hair wasn't as long as Sagz(school rules) but the same concept was applied. Used to also be called a "step".Looking back at pictures, I am glad I now have much shorter hair.
dsw Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Seems the top pro's have not bought into the hype of the Spez Power saddles

Sent from my SM-N9005 using TapatalkYeah the venge is heavy. Well heavier compared to the tarmac. That new tarmac is more aero than the old one anyway. Either way, what ever choice Sagz makes is the best one.

Long Wheel Base Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 So vortex generators have been used on aircraft for years. They are small little fins that are strategically placed on the upper surface of the wings and horizontal stabalisers, just in front of the control surface. Due to the fact that the wind speed is much greater on the upper surface of the wing and the air pressure less, the airflow gets very turbulent. By the time the turbulent air gets to your control surface it can be so disturbed that it would in fact be useless and then in theory you have no control surface and therefore not be able to steer the plane. What the vortex generator does is smooth out the airflow and keep the air closer to the surface of the wing and then allowing maximum efficiency once it gets to the aileron or elevator. The only reason I can think of for a skinsuit to have generators on is to reduce drag buy smoothing the flow. They mentioned wind tunnel testing and that is what they test for in the tunnel. The theory says it will work but I am not sure they go fast enough for long enough for this to work. Look how quick an aircraft has to be going forward before there is enough wind speed over the wings to provide lift. But hey, anything to get your opposition all worked up. Maybe that's the reason?

Separation point further round the arm/body to reduce the turbulent wake, I think. Same as the dimples on a golf ball.
