Yesterday we drove up into the Pyrenees and did a little hike from the village of Revilla along to the "Miradors of Revilla" and back.

Miradors are "looking places" - what we'd call Viewing Points. It was an easy hike and the views were amazing. Afterwards we had a picnic lunch on the grass back at the car and sat and enjoyed the view while we ate.

This is definitely a place we'd recommend people to come and see for a morning out. Only 20 mins drive from Ainsa, good access and a really nice camino/path to walk along.

A couple of weeks ago after some heavy rain, we took a walk up to the abandoned village of Espierlo on Zona Zero MTB Route ZZ-015 to look at the waterfalls and the views....

It's been a while since I posted anything on here! So, here are some pics I took in February on a ride a couple of km's from where we live. It was still winter but it was a beautiful day to rise alone up in the mountains. I think I saw I car all afternoon and one farmer - up in the village of Silves!

On Dec 31st we walked up to the Church and castle ruin above the village of Samitier with 2 of our old South African friends who were staying with us over Christmas. They now live in Scotland so where the weather can be "less nice" at this time of year 🙂

It's a walk we often do and well worth it!

I've been away from Spain working quite a lot over the last two years and when I am back - every 8 weeks or so , I've been busy with jobs that need doing while I'm here. Then it's time to go again!

Now I'm here for a continuous few weeks I'll try and catch up with some more pics and latest info

On Tuesday "Wendy" and I took a drive and then an hour or so hike up to the “Ibon de Plan”, a lake up in the Pyrenees mountains. The lake sits at 1920m above sea level and is about 1000m above the nearby village of Saravillo. We drove up to the “Labasar refuge” and then hiked the last bit

 

It was a beautiful sunny day, not too cold, and the scenery was absolutely stunning.

I've ridden on my MTB up to the lake a couple of times. After Saravillo, you climb for about 12km on a dirt fire/access road. That gets you up the 1000m to the refuge, then you ride through the trees for 1km to get to the lake. Coming down, there's a singletrack / footpath to follow.
