Bonus Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 I had planned to get my "European Guiding Qualification" this Spring so that I could potentially start "working" this Summer, but because I've actually been working at a local campsite for the last couple of months, I've been putting the trip off. Tomorrow at work I should find out whether I have guaranteed work over the Summer at the campsite. If I do then I will push the Guiding Course back until after the season ends - which is at the end of September. If not then I will plan to do it asap.

Bonus Posted June 16, 2018 Author Posted June 16, 2018 The "TransPyr Gran Raid" MTB stage race passed through Ainsa on Wednesday evening, where the days stage finished on a dirt track next to the Rio Cinca. I popped along to have a look, took some pictures and chatted to a few people. This year there were around 300 riders competing. It looked well organised and the riders coming in seemed to be enjoying themselves. Ainsa is at roughly the half way point. I'll post more details on a separate thread . . . . just in case anyone is interested in competing next year :-) RossW 1
Bonus Posted June 20, 2018 Author Posted June 20, 2018 (edited) Zona Zero Route 19 from Camporrotuno. It was hot, but worth it! https://www.relive.cc/view/g21791745876?r=embed-site Edited June 21, 2018 by Bonus
Bonus Posted June 21, 2018 Author Posted June 21, 2018 (edited) Myself, Darren and Bernie did an evening ride on Zona Zero Route 6 light (ZL-006 - La Ribera de Fiscal). We joined the circular route at its "half way point" - the abandoned village of Janovas, so we did the second half and then the first half It was dark by the time we got back to Janovas, much later than anticipated, and Bernie - the one out of the three who is not an MTB Guide - saved the day on the last km with a bike light he had tucked in his bag ;-) https://www.relive.cc/view/g21791746708?r=embed-site Edited June 21, 2018 by Bonus RossW 1
Bonus Posted July 1, 2018 Author Posted July 1, 2018 "Tour de France Fever" is upon us! Today we plan to take our road bikes out for a spin up the road. Will be my first road ride this year! Yesterday morning I cleaned them and pumped up the tyres . . so they know it's coming. Will take a while to get used to the skinny wheels again coppi 1

Bonus Posted July 15, 2018 Author Posted July 15, 2018 Riding ZZ-018 with my friend Mark from Scotland a few days ago. I left the Team Sky kit in the cupboard and wore "baggies" for a change, just to keep Mark happy! As it happened, he also brought an extra pair of baggy shorts in his bag for me because my "Lycra" attire is something we joke about. I liked the "Baggy shorts and Zona Zero shirt" combo so much I think I'll adopt it as my unofficial guiding uniform . . . :-) RossW 1
