Please do share the details, was curious about the event but was sceptical about the amount of experience of the organizers, thus did not enter.

Hey Spinnekop

What happened?

Yeah, a bit of a drive, and registration this morning was slow!! But not too bad.  On par with the Rooiwal races methinks.  Oh and making the U-turn a few kays too far, didn't help my poor form.

Apologies about the slow entries.

We were not expecting so many licensed riders to come so late.

CSA officials had to check each racing license was valid

(Apparently there is a rule regarding this I learned afterwards)

Already planning next years race where we will have a queue for CSA racing licensed riders (and a CSA official) and a queue for CSA member licenses doing the open race

I raced licence and didn't have a problem with the entry or collection of numbers. Had a problem with them putting all the licenced batches together, but alas it's a small race and one cannot expect them to start batches of 20 riders for each category. Other than that, entry wasnt too much, road rangers were there and timing wasnt too bad. I'd pick this race any day before I do an ASG event where you pay R300+ for a race and then not even properly organised and very little prize money. This was a well organised event by a new company. Would suggest using racetec next year to attract more entries

How did they allow you to host the race if you do not know this rule?

I know of a couple of people whom enjoyed the race.

I really think if it gets supported it will grow in numbers over the next couple of years as I am sure they will get the commitment of sponsors.

Spinnekop why not give feedback to the race organiser on what your grief is and then see how they commit to better it next year, coming on a forum and just give feedback without any information reasoning it does not give the full picture....a story always has 3 sides

I am sure Spinnekop will give his feedback soon. But alas the age old timing issue has reared its head again! The fact that guys don't wear the chips/stickers and then afterwards want to dispute the results. The worst is that the organisers entertain this. No chip no result!!

I spoke to Shamus personally.  They way he handled the situation is not up to my "high standards"

 C'est la vie.

I'll vote with my wallet.

As someone previously stated.  CC or Racetec.  And I'll pay my R100 extra for organisers who knows what CSA rules are and have integrity to follow it.

We have a 3 year commitment from the sponsors.

Later in the week we will have a debriefing with all the people involved.

Be sure that I will be taking everyones comments and suggestions seriously and presenting them at the meeting.

At the close of entries at 17:00 on Friday, a decision was taken that there were too few licensed riders to warrant 7 bunches and the cost of 7 commissaires.

The Head official made a call to combine the bunches to same time and resources.

On Saturday morning, almost 30 more Racing Licence riders arrived.

This delayed the start as Licenses had to be verified and a new start list had to be set up.

in that the time the Head Official managed to get another Commissaire at very short notice.

The rules were bent a little and it bit us in the ass.
