RyanAW Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 I would say riding at a specific pace, and holding it there for 60km. Even though we'll probably start off slow and build from there, the person that is unable to ride at an agreed pace will struggle. It's hard to use a race as an example, as the guys sitting in a bunch will find it easier to hold a high pace compared to riding on their own. Anyone else - feel free to add to this.Perhaps after the first lap (if the group has significantly varying abilities), we could break into smaller groups.
Frosty Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Oh, and another thing: The pace line won't necessarily be 15-20 seconds per person each time - perhaps by the 2nd or 3rd lap, it might get to a point where the stronger riders spend a bit more time on the front but the rolling still take place - this also helps keep the group together for longer as you have a proportionate work rate according to ability. The stronger guys can maintain a higher pace for longer, but also require some recovery.

As previously agreed, Gerald will call. There will not be a split at first, if we see that a split is needed on lap 2, then that call will be made. Lets stick to the plan.
