While I wish Sitting@89 everything of the best with this amazing goal I can't help but observe that smaller goals over a shorter time frame usually produces better results.

It is definitely possible to achieve a large goal that is in the longer term future but it's generally the small steps inbetween and the reward of achieving smaller milestones that motivates behaviour change.

Every strength Sitting89 - especially with quitting the cigarettes.

I have broken the process into some small/intermittent goals the first being reaching below 140kg and going 30 without smoking.

Just to add an update as well, trained 3 times last week, two slow rides and a relaxed 30min jog.

Have not weighed again as I believe getting on the scale too often breaks motivation. Will post weight on Thursday

Uh uh the scale is not for motivation, its to control / check if your plan is working.

And on Thursday if the weight is going the wrong way...wat dan?

wake up, piepie, scale.... in that order every morning

I weigh myself every morning when I want to keep weight steady, but it can get disheartening when I am trying to loose and on a day to day basis there is little change. I agree the scale is not for motion but rather to track progress. I just want to keep to the structure of training and eating clean (I don't diet by the way I just cut out all the stuff I know is bad)

Seems like his weight loss has stagnated from mid 2015 almost.

RESPECT for hanging in there !

Clearly some medical issue, he did mention Type 2 diabetes.  Yet he keeps on going ....

Diabetes can be a real challange !!  You get to a point where you must take certain meds .... these meds have KNOWN issues resulting in weight gain, which in turn is not good for the diabetes. ... real snow-ball effect ...
