@Cav'

The title of the thread should be "The Classics 2017" or the "Spring Classics 2017" if the Giro di Lombardia (GdL) is excluded from this thread.

Spring - MSR

* Cobbled - E3, G-W, RVV, PR

* Ardennes - AG, FW, LBL

Summer - a few, but over-shadowed by the Grand Tours.

Autumn - Paris-Tours, Lombardia.

The 5 in bold are the monuments - for those that don't already know.

MSR is the start, usually on the first Sunday of Spring, while LBL usually concludes the Spring Classics season.

What a race!! Bleak that Tommeke didn't pull it off, but after the spring GvA has had, he is probably the deserved winner.

Now on to the Ardennes!! :clap:

Although I can't say this with as much enthusiasm as saying PR!!!

@Nibali

We are all suffering from classics exhaustion after the last month of build up to PR.. Probably why the Ardennes don't get the attention they should he he

Makes sense yes. That is until we see our boy, the Maincheese, doing his thing :clap:

Top fact:

Van Avermaet's average speed of 45.204kph was the fastest in the history of the race, outstripping the longstanding record set by Peter Post in 1964, when the race featured far fewer cobbled kilometres.

That is seriously quick. Wonder if the tail wind at the start helped?

Think it was more the fact that all attacks were chased down with some anger.

Never seen a peloton so nervous and reluctant to let a group get away, this cool though, I think its indicative of a strong field....
