Might try this if I can't get it somewhere else.

20GBP for the year doesn't sound too bad, and I think there is content on there that will be free as well.

Need to read up a bit more though.

Trying to sign up, app is pants though.

Gents iirc from the video announcement of the Race Pass portion of the app SA wasn't highlighted as a country that would have access to Race Pass. So perhaps doing the same as Frosty might be advisable or even making use of Tiz Cycling.

The problem with a Eurosport player sub as Gen mention is paying for it - they won't accept a card that is not registered in the UK or wherever you try an address. I have tried (and tried hard) to find a way, including virtual card services, and have not succeed, the only way it seems it to lean on a pal in the UK and ask them to help las you their card details and you refund them.

Or maybe someone has found a way to get a legit sub???

On the GCN front they seem to filter your options based on country, hence i can not find a way of paying. Maybe a VPN will help but their service is a collaboration with Eurosport so perhaps they control it by payment source as well. I use Getflx not a VPN.

What a pathetic situation: I am  happy to pay a reasonable amount for a legit decent service but it seems it is not possible here, thanks to the media monopoly that is what it is, that i will not support.

So pirate streams it seems.

Are you able to bypass the Eurosport issue around payment method, or do you have a UK based payment method[emoji848]

My brother is UK based, so he'll help with the payment side.

If somebody gets the GCN Race Pass thing sorted via a VPN, please let us know. I think it is the best model to support the players within the cycling racing scene directly instead of padding the Multichoice shareprice.

PS: The irony in the name of the company that effectively has a Monopoly on Live Sport broadcasting in SA is a little amusing.

The last 90mins of live racing to be broadcast on S8 for the men with a 50min slot for the women beforehand and highlights of 2019 before that.

Same as Eurosport, almost.

For Strada Biache, I’m going to “bet” on an Aussie being on the podium - they’re used to coming out of their December break and then straight into racing their Nationals. This will be similar, I think. Given only a few Aussies on the start list, it’s it difficult to pick Luke Durbridge from the list.

Then one can’t rule out WvA and MvdP - always going to be there, or thereabouts. With the unknown form factor, and a possible “all out” effort in bursts, it may suit theses guys.

Then the usual one specialists, namely GvA, PS, MK, JA.

No need to pick 1-2-3, but rather any one of the names listed above will occupy the three positions.

So do we have a winner to be able to watch the race today on line? I was thinking of doing the GCN sign up as it's on special for £19 for the year. Eurosport is also on special @ £19.

I've been through most of the 'free' options and also the UK channels but hardly anyone is covering them.

In the the womens event seems Ashleigh MP is out after a training crash and Trek ladies team has had their bike stolen en mass with thieves cutting through the top of their team truck and taking 6 race bikes. Say what you like about SA but I've not had 6 of anything stolen here, let alone bikes.

I saw the GCN advert last night, it it wasn’t active on the app.

Have you tried yet?

Eurosport requires a valid credit card from the region that one is registering in, eg a UK card if registering in the UK, or a German bank card if registering in Germany.

Keen to see if GCN will work with a ZAR card, so I don’t have to rely on my brother (in the UK) each time.

November Eurosport has a Black Friday special, but that’s great when the normal season runs from Jan-Oct.

Not yet. I was waiting to see what other options might be about. Out of those 2 I'd rather give my money to GCN but I don't know anything about who is giving the services to them and their backbone. I'm guessing they are derived from one of the big guys and their infrastructure. Think I'll sign up now  and then let you know.

Edit - Now signed up

I've ignore up and paid for the RaceTV on GCN but now it won't accept that I've actually given them money. Also when I go into the race app it says that the coverage will be at 4:30pm UK time.
